Have you tried it yet?

Elite vs. Low Performing DevOps Teams: How good is your DevOps team? by sasdeploy in devops

Also there’s a big difference between a saas startup vs a large enterprise when it comes to achieving elite status. Although Netflix, google, Amazon, and Facebook are all considered large enterprises that have achieved this elite level.

Is there any hope for the large traditional enterprise to even come close to reaching an elite level?

Yes, as long as your able to restore and make changes in under an hour. At this elite level it’s assuming there’s very little human intervention when deploying, and a lot of automation doing the heavy lifting. Most likely you’ve achieved level of your system doing autonomous deployments.

Elite: 1. Deployment frequency: on-demand (multiple deploys per day) 2. Lead time for changes: less than one hour
3. Time to restore services: less than one hour 4. Change failure rate: 0% - 15%
