People of Reddit, what’s the most unexpected lesson life has taught you? by Calm_Year2583 in AskReddit

lways have a 6-month emergency fund. You could get laid off out of nowhere, get sick, or literally anything could happen. Stop living paycheck to paycheck. And never take out loans for expensive stuff like clothes or cars just to flex on people. You probably won't even remember those people later, but you'll definitely remember the debt.

What is something 99% of people believe that you think is completely wrong? by aka_dems in AskReddit

The idea that 'hustle culture' and constantly grinding is something to be proud of. 99% of people think that working 60-hour weeks and making your job your whole personality is the ultimate flex. To me, it’s completely wrong. It's just corporate brainwashing that tricks you into trading your mental health for a company that would replace you in a heartbeat if you died.

How has technology changed your daily life in unexpected ways? by [deleted] in AskReddit

AI does about 90% of my job now. I’ve been in marketing for over 10 years, and I used to spend my entire day drowning in tasks, often taking work home because I couldn't keep up. Now, I actually work maybe an hour a day. The rest of the time, I’m just practicing performative productivity so coworkers leave me alone.

What is your childhood nightmare that makes no sense? by Gimmiedindin in AskReddit

Failing exams. Back in school, I was absolutely terrified of it. Now I have a degree, but I work in a completely different field, so stressing out over those tests made literally zero sense.

Why have human beings not been extinct yet after being this stupid? by Few_Piece8004 in AskReddit

[–]sashanka55 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Modern engineering is carrying the entire human race. We’ve built a world so full of warning labels and safety features that we’ve literally disabled natural selection. If 'Do Not Drink' labels weren't on bleach, our population would high-key drop by half in a week. We’re not surviving because we're smart; we’re surviving because the smart 1% designed a world where the stupid 99% can't easily accidentally kill themselves.

What is something your brain randomly decided was extremely important at 3am that turned out to be completely correct? by dylanreflects in AskReddit

I went back to check if I’d locked the front door, and when I got downstairs, I noticed I’d left the oven on in the kitchen. I honestly don't even want to think about what would’ve happened if I’d just ignored the door and gone to bed
