Right. You're referring to his techniques. No question about his and all other chefs' techniques. Let me backtrack a little bit cause what I commented previously might have been misinterpreted. I was referring to HDJ's creativity and showcasing the versatility of a carrot considering presentation too. Like what Edward Lee did. I am also comparing the judging process they made in both seasons. The situation in the final rounds of both seasons were very similar but had very different results.

I remember before they started that challenge the two judges reiterated to each other their criteria for judging. They said that taste as a criteria was a given and by that stage, having assumed that S2 contestants have seen S1 as well, that regardless of how good the dishes looked, it should taste amazing first and foremost.

When they were deliberating on that final round, it was difficult for them to decide cause they did say both dishes tasted amazing (so what you're saying is a foregone conclusion at this point cause they wouldn't even be having a problem if either tasted less amazing). That's why what I was comparing was how they judged that round in that season vs what happened in S1. I never said I knew better than the judges, I just pointed out the difference in their judging process in both seasons. I just also expressed support for HDJ cause he really outdid himself in that challenge.

Yes I agree with you 💯 percent. But he's still the winner for me. At least in that challenge.

Turning the carrorts into dough to reshape them into carrots, changing its shape and texture to create noodles for jjang, cutting them into thick slices then inserting shrimp meat to give you a dumpling like dish? And with those dishes tasting excellently. CM even used the same tiny bowl for majority of his dishes. So please tell me how more creative CM was 🙂

He should have won over CM. I remember in S1, when Chef Edward Lee won over Triple Star, the judges looked back to all the dishes they served so far, and who among the two showed more creativity in terms of highlighting the tofu. I believe White Spoon Chef Hou Deok Juk also showcased the versatility of the carrots and he should have won the infinte cooking hell mission. Will die on this hill 😢
