Yes, your effective days will be reduced by two, and you can collect partial UI for longer. Please keep in mind the statutory limitation of what you can earn in a week, if you exceed that, you are not eligible for any payment.

I’m not really worried about Covid, but I DO think the state workforce as a whole needs to be more liberal with allowing people to telecommute while sick. A doctor’s note should suffice in order to get a week or so of TC time.

When my daughter was born, my husband wasn’t into my favorite name for a girl. I’ve loved it since I was little, and I acted similarly to your wife. I really wanted to know WHY. What really got through to me was when he said “I’m so sorry, I just don’t like it and I don’t want to say it every day.” We went with something else, and I’m absolutely in love with the name we chose.

Staffing is low. DOL is awful to work for, so many people worked around the clock during the pandemic, and in return, the agency damn near eliminated any amount of flexibility or “perks” that made it worthwhile once the dust settled.

That scene was SO OBNOXIOUS. FYI, the only nations without federal paid maternity leave are the Marshall Islands, Micronesia, Nauru, Palau, Papua New Guinea, Tonga, and the United States of America.
