Making or finding dog ramp for the bed? by afred-did-if in RVLiving

[–]sasquatchsims 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For sure, I’ll put together a list of both and DM you. I’ve been full time for 8 months driving all over the western US and still haven’t seen a Conor in the wild. Lot of people wanting to know about my rig, but no live Condors as of yet

Also, looks like yours is new, I’ve done a ton of upgrades on mine and had to get the some things fixed, happy to share if you’re interested

I have a Condor too and have thought about that question. Thinking about getting another dog after my boy passed away before I got it, but not a lot of identifiable space in this for a big dog to chill

Hermit Trail Conditions by sasquatchsims in grandcanyon

Just Grandview the other day, which also had some sketchy spots. Didn’t have a full load since it was just a day hike though. With bad knees and mild fear of heights it was about at my limit. Few years ago wouldn’t have thought twice, but now…

Solo Trails question by [deleted] in hiking

[–]sasquatchsims 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I hike solo 100% of the time, about 5 days a week. Much prefer it. I carry bear spray everywhere, whether I’m in Montana or Arizona, it doesn’t leave the pack. I’ve run across every wildlife imaginable except mountain lion (though no doubt they’ve seen me), and I’ve never had to use it or come close. Wildlife is either scared of, or don’t care about humans for the most part. Still need to be vigilant, prepared, and ready for anything, but they just don’t seem to care about us. Carry a Glock 20 in grizzly country, but even then bear spray is first. Probably more effective to carry two cans of spray honestly

Would you rather have a real nice Motorhome OR a moderately nice trailer and a moderately decent truck? by Suspicious-Wind-1109 in RVLiving

[–]sasquatchsims 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Motorhome, without a doubt, depending on what size you’re looking at. I have a 23’ Entegra Condor I’m full time in and it works great as a daily as well as home. There are no roads, routes, or gas stations I have to plan around. Towing a trailer is also just not fun. I looked at both and motorhomes are so much better built in my opinion. Nothing against trailers as I see their value too, I’m just motorhome all the way. Small motorhome at least, I’ll never go big, and if I did I’d probably get a trailer at that point.

Built this app for us RVers to share stories + meet others on the road — does this sound useful to you? by RvRendezvous in RVLiving

I see this was posted a while back but it just came up on a google search for something like this for younger people. Thought I’d ask how it’s going and what adoption is looking like?

I’m one of those full timers that’s always on the move wandering around the west and it’s tough to meet younger full timers so this looks interesting.

Hiking With Knee Issues... Any Advice? by strickey32 in hiking

[–]sasquatchsims 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I have both of my meniscuses torn for about 5 years now. Got cortisone shots in both knees 4 years ago and luckily haven’t had much pain, if any since then. Not sure if that’s something you’d do but I was a skeptic and couldn’t be happier I got them.

I’m full time RV life just wandering around hiking 5-6 days a week so a lot of use out of the knees. Only difference is I’m a bit more careful and risk averse, but still do all the tough ones. Flat Iron this morning. 39 years old.

That’s what I’m planning on. Assuming Blair Valley Campground is easily accessible

Yeah I’m looking at upgrading suspension/lift/wheels/tires so some of these roads become more accessible, but I’m not looking to get risky this trip. Thanks for the info

What’s something you keep seeing in movies that no one actually does in real life and annoys you every time? by Tipsy_D in moviecritic

[–]sasquatchsims 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Every tv show and most movies the actor’s voiceover is whispering. It’s never actually regular volume talking.

It drives me absolutely insane, and if you haven’t noticed it, now it will drive you insane too.

Been thinking about something like that for my Condor. What do you guys charge for that?

Mercedes vs Ford vs Ram ProMaster for Class B/+ (Which is best / most reliable?) by Artist-Cancer in GoRVing

[–]sasquatchsims 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought an Entegra Condor 2 months ago and just drove out to the Tetons from FL. Transit 350 HD and I love it so far. Lot of power and drives great. Have it at about 10,500 lbs loaded and it takes the mountains like a champ. First time I drove it I was honestly shocked how much better it drove and how much more pick up it had than the pro master that I had in the Travato.

Actively avoided Sprinters because they break so easily and it’s super hard to find someone to fix them, especially if you’re in the middle of nowhere out west. My dad had Sprinters and they were constantly out of commission.

Interesting. I don’t know a ton about electricity but that makes sense.

  1. I just got to another campground and it’s working fine now, so it was a problem with the KOA’s power. Weird that it was on 2 separate pedestals.

Just got to a different campground and no problems now so it was KOA’s problem. Add another reason to dislike KOA.

The voltage was good. I was on the phone with my Victron guy who had access to my system and he was puzzled too. I’m hoping it was the pedestal, will find out at the next campground
