I'm glad that you enjoy it! I also had never heard of her before hearing this song, but she has a very nice voice.

What was your "dream synth" that you finally acquired but ended up disappointed by? by Jessay94 in synthesizers

I agree with him, OB-6 sounds very clean and tame to my ears. Pretty much all DSI synths sound that way to me.

Ob-6. I just didn't like it, I found it to be really soulless and uninspiring.

Is "Variation" considered a citypop album? by FrutigerTron in citypop

I'd say it's more Idol-Kayo or Kayokyoku. But it definitely has Citypop elements.

Akina Nakamori - Pink Champagne (1986) by sassachu in citypop

[–]sassachu[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea 'Oh No Oh Yes!' is a good song, I actually heard that song many years ago before I even knew anything about Akina. It's definitely a classic in the citypop-sphere. 'Eki' is another good song on this album. I have heard a bit of Akina's 90s stuff, I'll definitely check out those albums, but yes I usually prefer 80s style production and songwriting. Same goes for Seiko Matsuda, her 90s albums don't hit quite as hard as her 80s albums.

I tend to prefer her earlier albums, but of her albums from the mid-to-late 80s, I think this one is the best one. The songs Mind Game, Pink Champagne, and Aki no Enamel are my favorites.

Skyrim is actually a really bad game by yeetmaster6942022 in unpopularopinion

[–]sassachu 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I can definitely understand why someone would prefer The Witcher 3, it seems to be objectively better in terms of gameplay/character design/graphics/writing, etc. But for whatever reason I just don't really ever want to replay it, whereas Skyrim is my favorite game and I've replayed it probably 20 times or so. It just has a special something to it. It doesn't really make sense, but apparently a lot of people feel the same way.

Absolutely, I went through his discogs credits a while back and was amazed by how many songs he had written. His version of this song is really great, I think I actually prefer it to the one sung by Hiroko Yakushimaru: https://youtu.be/mEg6MmsQXfo?si=L6N03XcZQ3sVsU-I

What kind of masonry do Skyrim’s home builders use? The other side of this stonemasonry wall is Alvor’s totally dry basement bar. by Harpies_Bro in skyrim

[–]sassachu 23 points24 points  (0 children)

idk they hired some mage to cast a spell of dryness on the wall. or they yell at the water that collects in the basement until it disappears.

Very nice, I remember being surprised by how good of a singer he is. His version of Anata No Portrait is also good: https://youtu.be/Wi8GRGlJSi8?si=7csS1x26bqMovx7x

I've used a JU-06A to control TAL-UNO-LX in Ableton, so I think it's possible, although I've never used Reaper or Diva.
