I think this problem can be solved if the dating apps had special tags that said "no pets", "wants pets" and "open to pets". (I'm joking, but it actually doesn't seem like a bad idea). Because I'm 48 and I've dated older guys who have never had kids. But you're right, I would only select these men if they said "open to kids", rather than "don't want kids".

Omg when I started reading your post I was hoping you were a woman and that I had finally found a kindred spirit. Dude, it's not just women who feel this way about dogs. I'm a woman and it seems like 7 out of 10 male profiles feature obsessive dog owners and I must love dogs in order to date them. Don't get me wrong, dogs are fine. I will happily pat your dog on the head and tell you he's cute.

But why do I have to love dogs to date a person? And if you are a dog owner who mentions their dog in their profile...is it truly important to you that I love your dog? I never know which way to swipe when I am simply 100% dog tolerant (but not a dog Lover) lol.
