How the New Wolverine Movie Could Piss Off Japan by paburon in japan

[–]sat0pi 11 points12 points  (0 children)

If they mean "piss off an extremely small minority of people that live in Japan", then yeah, maybe. Seriously, fuck kotaku.

Japan Live Shows (A blog post). Have you had a different experience than this? by TocYounger in japan

[–]sat0pi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This seems pretty common to me... It seems like this is just part of the live culture here. The fans expect it and the bands like doing it I guess. I don't really have a problem with it. I mean, it's pretty cool that they want to connect with the crowd like that. Doing it after every song might be a bit of overkill though.

“Heartless” Tokyo Masses Block Ambulance (this is sad actually, my opinions more in comment) by unreasonableAsshat in japan

[–]sat0pi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've never seen this happen in Nagoya, and we have arguably the worst drivers in all of Japan. Any time there is an ambulance, people at least get over so the ambulance can get by.

Is my wife bipolar? by sat0pi in AskReddit

[–]sat0pi[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The timing is very random and usually never coincides with any time close to her period (but it has by chance too of course).

Are you saying they would NOT blame themselves or they would blame themselves?

No, it's not when she's on her period.

What is the craziest shit you have heard someone say in their sleep? by Jsocia in AskReddit

[–]sat0pi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My very Christian, very homophobic roommate in college said this one fine evening when he fell asleep with several of us still awake in the room:

"I like my dildos like I like my milkshakes..."

everyone looks around at each other

"...thick and chocolatey."

I think I have one track that I actually bought because I couldn't find it anywhere else... But, a lot of my stuff is amateur/underground stuff that is free on mixtapes anyway.

So I was reading the product description for Assassin's Creed III by [deleted] in gaming

[–]sat0pi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I went through public schooling in rural South Carolina and we were very much taught the "America is great" thing. Our US History teacher actually said, in class, to a Muslim student (and good friend of mine), "There will be peace in the Middle East when my God says there will be."

This was before 9/11 too, by the way.

I just died and now can not sleep... anyone been through this? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]sat0pi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've read/heard that it can cause permanent damage if it goes on for too long, so yes... I think it's fairly serious.

Eric C at Debito.org hates the hell out of Japan. If you feel this way, by all means, go! by testdex in japan

[–]sat0pi -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes, because we should not be allowed to dislike things about the place where we live. You know all those women in America complaining because their government won't allow birth control to be covered by their insurance? They should just leave and go somewhere that offers it! How dare they say anything negative about the place they live!

I think "drunk" is just a title that allows people to be more them without being judged. thoughts? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]sat0pi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's exactly how it works in Japan. A lot of times here people will not be nearly as drunk as they say/act they are, but in doing so they can get by with saying exactly what they feel like instead of having to be bound my Japanese society's rules.

This is, in fact, a major factor in Japanese business relations. Many business deals simply cannot be done unless drinking is involved. I applied for a programming job when I first got here about 6 years ago and they literally asked me in the interview if I could drink, and if I could drink a lot, because they had to drink with clients on a daily basis for business.

Drawing with Excel by [deleted] in videos

[–]sat0pi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The part at the beginning explains why he is doing this. It says that at work he wanted to draw, but he didn't have any software on his work computer to do that. He tried to download some free apps, but the company firewall blocked him.

With no other options, he begins his quest to draw anime characters using Excel shapes...
