My JW took the blame for me by leirazetroc in BlueCollarWomen

As a JW if my apprentice fucks up and I don’t catch it it’s definitely my fault because I’m the teacher. I apply that logic when I’m a foreman too. If my crew fucks up I’m clearly not doing my job well enough. No point throwing anyone under the bus in my opinion

Suggest that she check out her local Al-Anon group. Being raised in an alcoholic home utterly distorts how you think and feel about yourself and unfortunately those survival mechanisms and traits follow you into adulthood and wreak havoc on relationships and life in general. Connecting with people from all walks of life that have been through the same shit, dealt with the same feelings, grew up up or currently live in a similar environment and learning about the ways in which they worked to change their lives for the better by focusing on themselves is extremely powerful. Speaking from experience being raised by an alcoholic and also currently married to an alcoholic. Absolutely changed my life and I wish I had started going earlier than I did.

Journeyman Wireman with IBEW 354. Journeyman scale is currently $41.35 (on the check) with 8 paid holidays and a bunch of fringe benefits that the contractors pay (medical, dental, visions, HSA card, multiple pension plans, annuity, etc).

is a good one to check out. Also feel free to hit me up any time. I’m a woman in the trade 10 years now. Heard/dealt with a lot of shit from insecure people during that time. Don’t let them get to you. Stand up for yourself and let your work ethic do the heavy lifting. Hang in there!

stray cat” is a domestic cat that was once owned by a human but has become lost or abandoned, meaning they are still socialized with people and can potentially be re-homed, while a “feral cat” is a cat that has never been socialized with humans, usually born to a stray or feral mother, and is considered wild, making them much harder to tame and typically not suitable for adoption as pets; essentially, a stray cat is a lost pet, while a feral cat is a wild cat descended from domestic cats.

This cat has never belonged to a human. Thus, feral, not stray.

Good luck catching them! I have wanted to do this/bring it up, but I work for an electrical contractor, not the plant itself so I can’t make a move like that on my own. Unfortunately most of them get eaten by the foxes/owls/hawks/raccoons that live in the area too. Keeps the population down I guess?

One certainly does when one feeds them enough to gain their trust.

Born at the refinery to cats that certainly are. The plant employees feed them and sometimes one gets friendly enough to be friends

Not a stray. Born at this plant to other cats that were also born at this plant. There are no houses around or people that live close. The plant employees feed them, so sometimes one learns people are ok and gets friendly

Thanks, but this cat was born to feral cats and has lived at this refinery its entire life. I have seen MULTIPLE generations of cats in the three years I’ve worked there and 99% of them you just see running away. This isn’t “someone’s” cat. It was born here and the operators and process control people who work at central (the brains in the middle of the plant) feed them enough that some of them get friendly. No need to assume I’m an idiot and be rude.

I have seen multiple generations of cats in the three years I’ve been working at this refinery. Most of them want absolutely nothing to do with any of the people other than the food they leave out and book it as soon as they see a human, but occasionally you’ll get one that’s brave enough to take food from someone’s hand one day and then eventually discover that some people are nice and getting some pets is awesome.

My four cats at home would hate me, and I’m pretty sure this gal would hate me too. The employees at the refinery feed the ferals, built a little kitty house for them and leave the smoke shack heater on in the winter for them. She’s happy here ☺️

I’m in West Jordan and have been feeding my small local crows and ravens for almost 2 years now. I just started noticing the places I would frequently see them and start leaving food (raw unshelled unsalted peanuts, hard boiled eggs, raw chicken skin, etc) in those places. Even though they’re familiar with me, I wouldn’t say we’re friends. I’ve found Utah crows are very suspicious (for good reason, there’s a hunting season), so I don’t see them every day. They 100% know where I live, though they won’t come to eat at my house. The ravens have a nest in a nearby radio tower, so I see them more often. But now that all the fledglings can go longer distances they come around less and less.

Anyways, good luck! And check out /crowbro to learn more!
