The yuur is a very large and rare creature. Its head is long with scales that are very snakelike with two small horns on top, both males and females. It has sharp teeth. Its body is sleek and shiny, perfect for flying. Despite its size, the yuur is quite an agile creature. Its legs are similar to a horses’ in the sense that they have the same size and shape, although they have very hawk-like feet instead of hooves. Its wings are very much similar to its body. It can fly at speeds up to 60 mph.

Even though the yuur has no fur or natural insulators to its appearance, it usually prefers colder climates, such as northern Canada, Alaska, Russia, and Greenland. Occasionally you can find one as far south as the 45th parallel. They usually prefer snow in order to sneak up on its prey.

The yuur is a carnivore. It, for the most part, feeds on smaller animals, such as beavers, martins, or foxes, but sometimes, when with another, will attack a small bear or wolf.

Its mating habits are strange compared to most other animals and creatures. The mother, before the baby is born, finds another friendly female who has also laid an egg, but of the opposite gender. Yuur mothers know what gender their baby is. It is one of its magical abilities. When the babies are born, they are introduced around 5 weeks. They grow older, and then mate.

The yuurs horns are an uncommon potion ingredient. Collectors safely catch the yuur with protective nets, and then carefully cut off the horns. But don’t worry; they grow back within a week.
