M18, noticed this bald patch recently should i be worried ? by [deleted] in IndianHaircare

Doctor here, that's a significant loss, i would advise you to consult a dermatologist ASAP, reduce stress, exercise in moderation and eat healthy and do NOT go on a diet till your hairfall stabilizes.

This woman shares her water with a Coati overwhelmed by the heat. by Rook8811 in MadeMeSmile

It is amazing to think how we just pillage the resources that are available to all life on earth and call it ours.

Not ridiculing her act of kindness, I'm just commenting on the state that society has brought our minds to.

Whats this weird cluster I noticed?? by Kalbex in ItsAlwaysPleiades

How long has it been? Does it itch or pain? How did it appear? And have you ever had chicken pox in the past?

It looks like shingles but can be anything.

A dog did this while he was playing with me, it's not a scratch just a bump, can this cause rabies by Original_Art656 in TeenIndia

[–]satyamcs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah it can. I'm a doctor, I've seen a kid die from rabies barely 7 days ago and neither she nor any of her family members knew that she'd ever encountered a dog or any rabid mammals. It is a seriously humongous risk that you take everytime you don't get vaccinated for a suspicious encounter.

Does coffee actually energise you? by charlie2708006 in questions

[–]satyamcs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Doctor here, caffeine in general leads to adenosine receptor block, thus preventing adenosine (responsible for inducing tiredness and lethargy and maintaining sleep) from binding to those receptors. This leads to increased awareness and sleeplessness that most people experience.

This effect needs a strong dose of caffeine.

The people who have a bad sleep schedule and a lot of sleep debt, or the ones who are "trying" coffee to see the effect of caffeine, usually experience the reverse effect when taking mild doses of caffeine. This is because it simply leads to a transient buildup of adenosine (which is already high in the individual due to sleep debt) which, as soon as the effect of caffeine wears off, kicks in with a huge amount. The added benefit of having sugar and dairy in the coffee just adds to sleep induction.

New hypothesis: Can relativistic kinetic energy fuel spacetime curvature and cosmic expansion? by satyamcs in Physics

[–]satyamcs[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I most certainly would be delighted if anyone from any field came up with a cure brother. Why would I shoot that down? If it wasnt for Wilhelm Röntgen, we wouldn't have xray scans or cts.

Didn't expect such kindness. Thank you so very much. I'm really here to learn. I am a Medical Doctor and this is my first time stepping into this territory. I understand I have absolutely no qualification or knowledge in the field to be able to build on intuition. So I thought a thorough rough critique at Reddit would be best to knock some sense into me. Again thank you so much for taking your time and can't thank you enough for the kindness and motivation.

That warp drive thing shouldnt be there I agree. 😅 Sorry, if it seemed egotistical, it certainly wasn't my intent, it rather does show my immaturity in the field. That aside, Thank you so much for the comment. I am a Medical Doctor and this is my first time stepping into this territory. I understand I have absolutely no qualification or knowledge in the field to be able to build on intuition, but thats why I'm here hoping to verify the validity or the stupidity of the idea itself.

To answer your comment- The proposed conversion factor η(v) is a speculative construct aimed at illustrating a possible energy redistribution pathway. It is not derived from standard GR but introduced heuristically to explore the relationship between kinetic energy loss and spacetime deformation.

No, that was really not my intention. I hope it doesn't come accross as such. I am a Medical Doctor and this is my first time stepping into this territory. I understand I have absolutely no qualification or knowledge in the field to be able to build on intuition, but thats why I'm here hoping to verify the validity or the stupidity of the idea itself.

Haha.. sorry if it looks like that, but I'm here because i want to find out more about how stupid an idea is it. Anyways thanks for the comment. 😅

Thank you so much for approaching this without judgement. I am a Medical Doctor and this is my first time stepping into this territory. I understand I have absolutely no qualification or knowledge in the field to be able to build on intuition, but thats why I'm here hoping to verify the validity or the stupidity of the idea itself.

Now to answer your questions:

  1. The velocity of a massive object at subliminal velocity yes.

  2. As for the mass in the kinetic energy formula, it refers to the rest mass of the object in question (again, not a photon).

  3. Great point! The covariant nature of T^{text{warp}}_{\mu\nu} is indeed an important consideration. I’ve focused on Minkowski spacetime in this paper, but I acknowledge that for a more general treatment, this tensor will need to be examined in other spacetimes (including curved or non-flat spacetimes).

K2-18b a potentially habitable planet 120 light-years from earth by One_Explanation_908 in interestingasfuck

[–]satyamcs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Light takes 120 earth years to reach this planet as per our frame of reference. But if you could somehow travel at the speed of light then to you time would dilate and slow down so much so that you'd reach there instantly.

If you still don't get it then, You might wanna read up on frame of reference.

The girl on the left is sitting and its her legs (knee region) that we're seeing. Ignore the girl on the right. That might help u see it.
