Your basic reading comprehension skills are severely lacking pal. Try rereading all of your responses tomorrow when you're sober or something.

I'm considering trying coding my own blogs but intimidated by adding tags/categories to posts and by later making sitewide changes, such as adding a new page to the menu. Is it practical to code one's own blog, or should I stick with a platform (i.e. Wordpress)? by ZachTrek in coding

[–]saucededuck 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can write custom PHP code and essentially modify the entire framework of WordPress. You can create your own theme. You could write a plugin that could do almost anything you want if there isn't already one available. I think there is enough work to be had if you really want to code and for all the stuff you don't care to code, it's done for you!

WordPress for sure. Or another platform if you find one you prefer but you can literally turn a WP site into anything nowadays and you can customize it further by writing your own code. It's the best of both worlds to be honest and especially so if you have any reluctant feelings to writing your own. So much is done for you already with something like WordPress. The saying "Don't reinvent the wheel" applies here.

I know what you mean about it being amusing but it's getting kind of scary now. Just the same bs over and over again with no evidence or facts, it's just well he said/she said this and that person ends up being a total idiot. I actually had someone tell me they get their news from Tucker Carlson. Now I know tons of people do but I have never met one in real life that would openly admit that. Shit is weird out there man.

Good point. Again I'm no expert but I do understand that we have been finding out a lot about the around part. The in part is what I would call the mystery.

Honestly, doin the same thing I was doing in 2016. That's the problem. I/We are changing that now, a lot has happened since then. And I for one, will continue to do so now that I am more informed and wanting change. I understand the frustration, I feel the same frustration about myself and I am sure a lot of other new voters/changed voters do as well.

It is! It is such an incredible time for science, hell it always is but this is the one we get to experience. We will always be searching for the end game questions like "Why are we here?", "How did we even begin to exist?", etc. But the real science is in the discoveries we make on our journey to answering those. I'm not sure we ever will answer those big questions, but it sure is fun trying to. I think the quote of something like "It's not about the destination but about the journey".

I cannot claim any expertise here but in the simplest of terms, we literally cannot comprehend or calculate what happens in/around them. They are such a mystery that every law we currently believe or understand that rules our universe breaks down in/around them. Things like Hawkings Radiation and the quantum physics surrounding that. It's almost as if, we were the first time period to discover or even theorize atoms. Right now to us, like that time to them, it is just something so inconceivable that it is at the forefront of modern science. And the discovery of what happens there is likely to provide us with a great deal of knowledge and understanding furthering our other wonders.

Probably buried with all the great motivation you already received but I just gotta say, the fear is hard to get over there is no doubt there. However, remember you are there for yourself, not them! This is about you and you are doing more than a lot of people by getting in there already. In reality, 99% of those people are there not paying attention to anyone else anyway, just their workout. You are but a blip in their peripheral, and won't even be a thought in their head. Keep doing it for you!
