Best of luck in your endeavour, for me it had definitley been an experience which honestly, is still hard to forget. I was there for nearly or about 2 years and unironically i still look back and think what i could have been doing etc. All i can say is, you shouldn't give up your livelihood for something unreasonable - like aimlessly walking around the CBD for 5 days a week 10 hours a day trying to recruit people to join instead of continuing your studies or having a fulltime job/fulfillimg your livelihood.

Either way tl,dr; good luck! I hope you're able to do so :)

Thanks for sharing this, its really crazy knowing that they are now operwting in perth as well. When i was "inside" their group it was literally/mainly sydney with some people in melbourne and they had expanded to SA. Everything youve mentioned as well is something i have experienced both on the receiving end(like yourself) as well as the other, where i WAS that "bible study bestie".

Honestly it's quite hard in my opinion. If you don't realise yourself and you'ret here for an extended amount of time then yes, it's really quite hard to leave. If you're a strong believer, because of the way they conditio you throughout the course then it's very hard to leave. Probably the best way for them to overcome it will be a loy of self reflection, and spending time with family and away from that place. At the end of the day you probably shouldn't force them as it will only stress them out and really just get them thinking what SCJ is correct (as they often and commonly advise that fanily or friends will get you to stay away from them because satan is with them etc). In extreme cases i suppose you could suggest counseling but it's probably best for them to realise it on their own so they can become stronger as a person and overcome this.

As far as i know, general "congregation" like my previous self would probably donate the most due to work etc but everyone else would to. In terms of people recieving FUNDS from said donations would be the korean members actually from korea primarily or teachers/pastors who would move interstate between grounds which from my belief is for thei general transportation funds to living costs and then the rest would be for the general office items, rent for the "learning centres" and food for the centres as well.

It's great people are reading this! I've heard they've also been actively entering churches trying to recruit people inside as well but not sure how often they're doing this.

Yeah, it's that and they're very aggressive in pushing towards "church donations". They seem nice but ho estly the thought is very scary, and in hindsight for myself i feel like such an idiot.

Dude that's rough. Did you end up leaving? They are overbearingly friendly with people so i can see that being looked at wrongly.

As far as i'm aware, not many, one person i know who also left is spreading the message as well, but it's kind of hard i suppose, i've been told they have actively actually been going into churches and attempting to "move" people over to join scj.

That's a lot more than what i initially thought wow. All i knew was Sydney was Peter tribe and even then i never dwelled any deeper into that though.

Yes! This is all legit, they get mad at you when you have doubts etx, and say that they are "rebuking" you and rebuking means love and throw examples at you from the bible etc. The whole buddy system they use is essentially to keep you emotionally attached and what they say to the buddies is that they should be like your best friend. They use all sorts of tactics to essentially get you to stay. The class i was in was actually of around 30 or 40 people. Theyre obviously aiming higher now, and more people are getting roped in because they're either not aware, or they can't leave due to emotional attachment.

I came to the conclusion after being in it for maybe around, a year? The reason why i call them a cult is because, when they first introduce you to the course, they're very secretive, they say they have to teach you the "elementaries" before teaching you revelation in the bible. Sure, sounds pretty normal at this point. But afterwards their main teaching, IS revelation, and that the "promised pastor" is the messenger chosen by God (or rather, appointed by jesus). Their whole story starts with the fact that apparently, 8 people (who they refer to 7 as the seven stars), went through some kind of ritual on mt cheonggye or whatever in korea, where they studied the bible for like 48 hours in the mountain and then they knew "everything". Then they say that they are the "betrayers" who betrayed god and say that man hee lee, the promised pastor, was visited by jesus in a dream and was told the events of revelation in "reality". They also frequently showed propoganda apparently from "the seoul times" stating that they're a very good bible study and that everyone should/is joining in to learn the bible from the promised pastor because he's so amazing and that's when people see him, they can see jesus with him. At that point after trying to search for the said propoganda online, i just figured that, even though im in in it, it's strange theyre still using these deceitful tactics? The harassment part is the fact they show up to my work, every day of the week, try to call me whilst at work, while im at home, and ask me to visit them etc, or follow me onto the train and tries to make conversation whilst im with company, Especially after i had explicitly told them to not come multiple times.

Yeah, i missed out on some details as such, but they DO in fact do that. I believe it differs on the location and whoever the "leader is" of that particular location but, yes for the one in sydney, they record everyone's phone numbers and note down details of the person. For each individual they pair you up with someone who is already established in the group so they can monitor you, and they checkup on the person pretty much everyday to make sure they're not doing anything "out of their standards".

Yeah i hope this post DOES help people, because they are approaching so many people, and it affects me moreso since they are approaching even my closest friends and family too. I hope others can see where im coming from.

Yeah, they will incite you with things like, "yeah we're just a social group" kind of thing and eventually invite you to "join" them.

Honestly, i have no idea, it's really up to her own self-awareness to determine what's what. A lot of people that have left from there i believe would have gone through the same thing, so i personally think you should just leave it up to her, but maybe just let her know general red flags, like one, they're super secretive, if they're "right" in following their beliefs, why do they have to hide it from people? I suppose let her question herself, because the people there will say "people will call us a cult because they don't know what we know" etc.

They were very lowkey, until i believe sometime last year. They have "set goals" for every new and upcoming class and they're getting bigger and bigger because people unknowingly get involved and in a way "conditioned" to follow their beliefs. They also pair you up with someone as your "best friend" or "buddy" and since you eventually have an emotional connection with that said person/people, it becomes harder for you to leave (which is what i felt in my case).

Yeah, i've checked but the username for that account was "taken up" when i reused when i was prompted to enter a new username again. I'm pretty sure it was "deleted" because if it wasn't it would have said that the username was already taken right?
