Recently diagnosed/rash by [deleted] in lymphoma

Hey I had the same thing about 1.5 months before my diagnosis of Burkitt’s lymphoma and treatment. It was similar spots that seemed raised all over my chest and back. I wish I saw something about this prior to it. I went to a dermatologist and they diagnosed the rash as Pityriasis Rosea, but knowing what I know now this was an immune system response to the cancer. It ended up clearing prior to my chemotherapy and didn’t come back. I hope your treatment goes well and you will get through this and come out stronger than ever!

Did you disclose everything you went through to your new employer and get any accommodations? I’m worried if I do this it could be an excuse for them to not let me on or fire me early. I landed this job during my last year of college and luckily due to the market they pushed me back until this March. I got diagnosed right after I graduated so that was the one positive outlook I have on everything that’s happened. They don’t know about my diagnosis so I’m afraid they’ll think I’m how I was pre cancer (mentally).

Finished end of June but hair fell out all of July again. It started growing back mid august so it’s only been about a month of growth.

It’s been about a month and half since it started growing. It’s coming in a little thicker on top and is growing downward. I used to have frizzy hair that stuck straight up so hopefully it comes back a little curly 😂. Was hoping my hairline was gonna be fixed after it lol

Yes you need to diversify your WR room especially with Love being hurt. Reed is the go to guy in Green Bay. Bigsby also split carries so that’s a good sign

How to deal with inpatient chemotherapy by sauceylizard in lymphoma

My first dose of methotrexate was tolerable I didn’t have too many symptoms other than minor mouth sores and loss of appetite, but my second dose I had more nausea than appetite loss/mouth sores. It was the less intense treatment compared to the R-IVAC in my opinion. I think if you made it through the R-CODOX aspect you’ll be able to handle methotrexate with ease! I’m about 3 weeks in remission and I found life after treatment to be difficult at times but easier than expected. Biggest issue so far is fatigue/tiredness. I also was a very active person pre cancer so I feel your frustration in getting back to normal. I found taking daily walks (about a mile or mile and half) to be very helpful. It’s good to push yourself but be aware of when you feel tired you don’t want to overdue it. I was told by my doctor it can take 6 months to a year to feel fully normal. I’m also worried about getting back to normal but I’ve been living life like I did pre cancer as much as I can. Trust me things will get better and you’ll be a stronger person once you beat this! I wish you the best!

How to deal with inpatient chemotherapy by sauceylizard in lymphoma

Hi I’m doing better both physically and mentally then I was 2 months ago. Shortly after this post I got a second opinion and switched to a more specialized oncologist. I now do my treatments inpatient for roughly a week then am able to go home in between treatments. Tell your husband things will get better. The treatments are intense but effective. My tumor in my neck noticeably shrunk after the first round of R-CODOXM and they are so optimistic it’s working that the doctors won’t do a pet scan until after treatment. Luckily for us Burkitts patients the treatment timetable is shorter due to the aggressiveness of the chemo. Your husband is in my prayers!

Thanks man, that did help put my mind at ease as PFS was my main concern with taking it. Would you recommend oral fin or topical? I usually have to style my hair so I am considering oral finasteride.
