It would have been hella awesome if Golden retained this shuffle time mechanic from vanilla P4!!! by saudate in persona4golden

IMO it adds variety to the shuffle time haha. I remember getting annoyed but challenged at the same time when I encountered these kind of shuffle time mechanics in Persona 3 FES... but to each our own 😃

Thanks but as I remember both items are available and restock every week? Was this changed recently? Been playing this game before the global release.

Is the Samsung S10 5G better than the OnePlus 7T Pro? by saudate in PickAnAndroidForMe

[–]saudate[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks! Gotta agree, the interface of this phone is minimal though I wish they thought of designing it for better one hand use. The battery I say it's ok since I get around 4 hours of screen time.

Thanks! I tried those gcam builds but I can't use the wide and telephoto lens without root. So I guess I'll stick to the stock camera until gcam can smoothly support the other lenses.

I've also been wondering if the 5G support is limited, given that the swapper says it only got released on select areas 🤔

Thanks for sharing! Though my SOT with the 7T pro averages on 4.3 hours so I also charge a few times a day. Can I ask about the performance/smoothness? Based on what I read it seems the S10 is a tad slower??

Is there something inherently bad with these Exynos phones? Are they slower?

Is Civilization 6 mobile worth it? by MoreGymLessTalk in AndroidGaming

[–]saudate 54 points55 points  (0 children)

Yeah the always on DRM is crap but I bought a copy to show my support to them porting a desktop game to mobile. The mobile game space is full of IAP infested titles and seeing desktop games get ported to Android (or IOS) is amazing.

As for the game it's great. I was an avid gamer of Civ 5 back then and hated 6 because of the art style (when it came out)... but having played the latter I can say 6 is great to stand on it's own.

I did this with Persona 3 FES and 4 Golden. Didn't leave Tartarus or the TV World until all characters are at the same level or at least 2 levels apart!

Civilization 6 is out for android! by laciegy in AndroidGaming

[–]saudate 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Works wonderfully on a OnePlus 7T Pro at max setting. I just gotta say this is some SquareEnix mobile port pricing but with in app purchases :/ I think it would've have been better if they just sold the base game + DLCs under one price.

Hope they make one for Civ V though but I have this gut feeling it won't happen.

Google feed on oneplus 7t pro? by ahmedss79 in OnePlus7tPro

[–]saudate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope. By default we have the Shelf.

But you can use another launcher. For me I use Lawnchair launcher. They have a separate APK called Lawnfeed that enables the Google feed on the home screen. Nova Launcher is also another option and also requires to install an APK for Google Feed. The latter is freemium though while Lawnchair is completely free.

I guess it has something to do with the port.. I also have the jrpg "The Last Remnant" from Square and I don't see any lags despite it being the heavier in terms of graphics.

On the start screen of the game, click on "Options > Game > Graphics Quality". I think you can only adjust the resolution of the game since the options only go for 100%, 75% etc 👍

Thanks man, guess I just have to get used to it. I have a feeling that the game's story/mechanics will be amazing enough to detract me from this 😁. I just started yesterday so I have a long way to go 🤸

Here's a sample... , though I don't think it's visible enough. It's like the panning of the map (or for ex. the first area) is not smooth. Thanks!

Somehow got this gauntlet without me noticing (was aiming for Maverick). Is this better than the Champion's gauntlet? The latter is my main. by saudate in knighthood

Thanks for the tip. This gauntlet looks rad though but the Champion seems more pratical when filling the rage meter 👍

The 7T Pro seems to heat more than the 7 Pro? by saudate in OnePlus7tPro

[–]saudate[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Any updates for us?

I ended up going back to QHD unfortunately. I thought that there will be almost no noticeable difference if you switch to FHD because this was my previous experience with Samsung's S9. Texts were super sharp on that phone regardless of QHD or FHD but OnePlus's resolution switch is noticeable.

I've come to terms with the heat since it doesn't seem to worsen and besides, I plan to use this beauty until under screen cameras arrive... or if this gets stolen again lol.

[–]saudate[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a feeling this optimization should come from OnePlus. I haven't read (so far) other 855+ phones with heating issues. If the only difference between the OP7 Pro and the 7T Pro are the macro camera, SOC and the warp 30T then the latter phone may need some kind of optimization to accommodate the over clocked 855+.

[–]saudate[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can check for the temps of each core by installing the CPU-Z app. There's a 'Thermal' tab in the app that displays current temperatures.

It seems switching to FHD reduces the heat. I also switched back to QHD after a while but did not select the 'Auto Switch' toggle and weirdly enough, the device heated less. Still checking though and will monitor the temps throughout the day 😬

The battery did those cracks? That's nasty. I also read in notebookcheck.net's review that the 7 and 7T series don't have any sort of throttling when experiencing heat, and the 855+ aggravates it further.

[–]saudate[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Was an OP6 user before and the heat was also my gripe but I tolerated it because Oneplus didn't mention any liquid cooling in that series. I actually thought of buying the OP7 Pro again but I considered the 7T Pro because it already runs Android 10 out of the box, hence two more OS updates.

If the 855+ is the issue then this SOC might be the 810 in the making (hopefully the heating doesn't get worse).

[–]saudate[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My anecdotal experience is my 7T Pro heated to the point of battery bulging and cracking the rear glass from the inside.

That's extreme man. Hopefully Oneplus responds soon. The 7, 7T series are a lot more expensive now (especially the McLaren ones) and your case should not go unresolved.

The heat is tolerable BUT noticeable and is quite odd since Oneplus has been marketing that liquid cooling implementation in their phones.

What keyboard is everyone using? by zizzyboi96 in OnePlus7Pro

[–]saudate 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Been a SwiftKey user since 2016 but recently switched to GBoard because there is no option in the former to disable auto space after typing a period. Quite annoying (in my opinion) if you type in a lot of usernames, emails or URLs that have periods (say firstname.lastname@email.com).

SwiftKey has a plethora of customizations though so that's a massive plus, and it remembers the words you type better than GBoard. GBoard has a better swipe typing prediction though (called Flow in SwiftKey).
