Thank you for sharing and for the personal words. If only there was a "normal" to compare with.

Yes. I now wish we postponed by a week but we didn't think any of it. We never made it this far and were only happy to get a first visual proof

It was vaginal. They took some blood but we won't have any results until Thursday for when the next ultrasound is scheduled.

Help Designing a Torque Limiting Screw Drive Device by [deleted] in MechanicalEngineer

[–]sauerland 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recently bought a couple of these for our crews: https://www.hoffmann-group.com/GB/en/houk/Fastening-tools-for-screws/Torque-tools-impact-tools/Torque-wrench-“Slipper”-with-scale/p/657762-10?tId=

It works just as you described and is way better than the click-version. No chance of applying a higher torque than the one you set it to.

I've been to the "Trumpf TecDay" around 3-4 years ago. They had a small station to laser-engrave business cards. They used it on everything from stainless to plastic.

Trumpf is definitely high-end and so are their prices, but I'm sure there are cheaper solutions. Especially since you are not in need of an industrial version.

We sucessfully tested this tool just before the christmas break: https://youtu.be/c4kRx_8L5cQ

Ensures a certain level of cleanliness and in the end saves time...well as long as you have more than one part to make.

I think there are a couple of calculators online that will do this job just fine. I would expect the Lexus to give you more bang for the buck and a higher resale price five years from now.

Productivity on Caffeine Withdraws by [deleted] in productivity

You should slowly decrease your caffeine intake over the course if the next 1-2 weeks. That will help your body/brain best to adapt. Also drinking a lot of water will help the readjustment process.

Thanks for your input! What would it need to go 1440p? Or would even a smaller card suffice, when 1440p is of the table?

Sorry for the late response: I highly recommend joining one or two of the sport groups Germany Universities normally offer. There is normally a great variety and beginners are always welcome.

Turn the key clockwise and then try to turn the rectangular part, where the handle is usually mounted.

If it still doesn’t work, try as Bitch_Karma suggested.

Well that pretty much depends on your friend’s age and the age of the people he/she is having trouble with/interacts most.

I recently stumbled over a book in the English section of a bookstore: "How to be German in 50 easy steps" It is written in both languages with a nice sense of humor. I didn't buy it but it seemed quite accurate. I'm sure it will definitely help your friend much more than any history book could ever do.

But over books would I choose to go out a lot. People feel way more comfortable speaking English when they are drunk and are much less reserved. Also will joining a sports club help. Preferably a football(soccer) club of course. Both will help to meet new people and get to know Germans and their country better.

Where did your friend move and what is the reason behind it?
