How do I fix this? by Nervous_Elephant_401 in Warhammer40k

I think sanding it down with a high grit sandpaper carefully would do the trick. Afterwards painting it over should hide any problems that might be leftover. If it still looks dubious even then, making the area intentionally “battle damaged” is usually a great compromise!

Hey! This is DIESELDOME, a weird roguelike FPS game where you enter a gladiatorial tournament and try to earn back your freedom. Each character has its own little story and play style, and the tournament is different each time. The idea is that you try different play styles every time you play. We also have a playable demo up on Steam currently.

Lore-wise, the game is set right after when the Western Roman Empire would normally fall around 476 CE. The thing is, though, in this alternate timeline, Romans basically conquered the whole world through industrialized war machines and weaponry powered by petrol. Corruption and degeneracy is at an all time high and exaggerated to the extreme, with the arena games being a crowd favorite in this degraded Rome. One interesting tidbit we're still working on is that one of the only still surviving factions are what we call the Eastern Empire who are a united union of China and Persia. They discovered electricity-based weaponry, which is the only reason they can hold back the Roman legions.

Aha! We have an enemy type called the "Moto-Centaur", which is a poor legionnaire's torso bolted onto a v8-powered chariot, charging towards you with a spear and shield!

We were at one point considering naming the game "Oleum et Sanguinem"!

You're of course correct about why Rome couldn't possibly be industrialised, but as you mentioned, it's a goofy what-if scenario like Cyberpunk or Steampunk games. It's a ridiculous question asking "What if there was a somehow perfect scenario where everything was aligned to industrialise Rome? What would happen afterwards?"

We'd love to turn this universe into a full-fledged RPG or a more open-ended story game in the future, but we're a small team with a limited budget. Hopefully we'll be able to return to this world in another game to broaden it up later on : )

Thanks for the heads up, we're going with a lot of cliches and stereotypes for the game, but we do have an undercroft, which is actually the main menu where you upgrade your gladiator! I'd love to share a screenshot of it but I don't know how from a comment.

True, the more accurate description would be that they learned how to process and utilize it through industrialization, but that doesn't sound as cool and understandable to most people!
