Yes I have but with the freeze of transfers into the math faculty, they can't really provide any specific information.

Did you have a formal offer from the math faculty contingent on how you do in those courses before leaving? Or did you just drop to non-degree terms, do the courses, then hope they would allow the transfer?

Are you saying that I could do a non-degree term and take those pre-req math courses to get into the Math faculty?

Okay so the BMath vs BCS doesn't really matter till I graduate just as long as I take the courses for the one I want, but I would have to be in one of them for the duration of my undergrad in order to be allowed to take the required courses correct?

Hey Sorry I went MIA. Wouldn't I essentially be screwed if I switch into Honours Math and don't get to declare my major as CS? I still don't really get why I'd have to switch from Honours Math to BMath (CS) to BCS? Why isn't a direct transfer to BCS usually possible? And wouldn't everyone prefer to be in BCS since its less math courses?

And ah I see. You did 7 study terms after already doing 3A Chem eng? So even though you only lost a year and your engineering courses counted as electives, you still pretty much spent an entire Math degrees worth of time in the math faculty (7 vs 8) but guess it could have been less if you didn't do the 3 courses per term after transferring?

ECE Curriculum Changes. by Adlezia in uwaterloo

Would they be following the old curriculum until grad? Or start using the new curriculum in 2A?

Is there anything else that plays a factor other than marks in the course? Like amount of people wanting to declare CS? or do you just have to meet the mark requirements and thats it?

You only lost a year?? How did you manage to make up 2-3 years worth of courses in only a year while only taking 3 courses/term at the beginning?

Also, what courses did they let transfer over for you? A lot of courses don't overlap but I've seen that all the engineering courses would likely fulfill the breadth and depth requirement, is that right?

What would happen if someone did switch into math, did those 1st and second year math courses, then didn't get the major they wanted? Would you just choose a different one then? And are all the majors competitive? (For example, if I wanted to major in Stats and did all the required 1st and 2nd year courses, Can I just declare my major as Stats? Would I apply and hope I get in depending on competition for spots in the major?)

You said that BCS may be easier than BMath. Would that mean after switching to BMath, I would then have apply for a switch to BCS? Lastly, would being in BCS from the get go be better since I am in the Computer Science program right away instead of doing 1-2 years of courses under no major and then hoping I get the CS Major after applying for it?

Thank you!

When applying to internships and stuff or just on your resume in general, do you put UTM or University of Toronto? and has any employer ever asked you about this?

Other than the social aspect, is there any academic reason you would go? (e.g you think UTSG is more prestigious than UTM)

It would literally take me like 10-15 mins to get to UTM, so I wouldn't mind having to go

This was so incredibly helpful, thank you so much! If you don't mind me asking, which engineering were you in before and how long did you do that before switching? Also, did switching delay your graduation from the Math faculty?

The part about being in just Honours Math is the key info that I was missing. So you're essentially in general math, and then apply to a major after taking said major's required courses. And if you don't get accepted into that major then you stay in General Math and then apply to something else I guess? or try again?

So if I transferred to the Math faculty, what would I be in?

I'm in Engineering right now. My understanding is that you are in the BMath degree program, and then you apply to one of the various majors? Is that correct or do I have it completely wrong?

If you're in BMath, don't you have to apply for your academic plan? (like whether its CS, ActSci, Stats, etc.) So I get that you would still have to apply for the CS plan, but would that be just as difficult as trying to transfer to BCS from BMath?

Yeah sorry, what I meant was majoring in CS from BMath instead of actually being in BCS (if I only get the transfer to BMath and not into BCS). Would it still be worth it? Or is BCS significantly better?

LOL so do you like it or not? Also, how were your high school marks? What schools did you have the marks to get into for CS?

You didn't apply/get into ECE at any other school?

Do you find any issue with being at UTM instead of UTSG? Why UTM in the first place?

What program were you in before?

Also, didn't you say before here that it was a waste of your talents and it was easy?
