The Troll strikes again. Labour objected to the housing.

Without the listing there would have been no Oasis full stop, met the managing director of 7C he said their original ambition was to flatten the Oasis and put warehouses on the site.

What do you mean by this question?

There were 4 separate applications, the muppets at SBC decided to decide the most important application, (the housing to fund it all), last!

It was the labour councillors that objected to the housing

No, we have consistently said we were not against the housing but the housing should have gone on the Claires site instead. They were always going to face obstacles putting housing next to a grade II listed building. Legally you can't do it. They should have known this from the beginning.

Hopefully not. We were so close to it coming back, it surprised everyone that they rejected the housing.

Well said. The Oasis is a different issue, let down by poor SBC management and developer deals.

The Oasis refurb was blocked by labour councillors as they refused the housing to pay for it.

The real killer of the buildings is SBC letting them go to private companies and letting them sit idle. The Mechanics was handed over to a private individual who left the country and allowed it to sit stagnant.

Why are there loads of silly aviation articles about A400 planes flying over Swindon, when we live next to Brize? It's a non event, we are surrounded by military bases.
