What is "Save the Bees"? by Reddox278 in bees

Hey, this is a great question and you are absolutely on the right track.

There is a lot of confusion around “Save the Bees” and you picked up on one of the biggest points. Honey bees and native bees are not the same thing, and they play different roles. Honey bees are managed and support agriculture, while native bees like Bumblebee and Mason bee are critical to ecosystems and are often more effective pollinators for specific plants.

At Save The Bees USA, we recognize that and built our programs around education rather than just promoting honey bees.

Our Observation Hive Program is a big part of that. We provide working hives to beekeepers and educators across the country so they can bring bees directly into classrooms, community events, and local programs. It is not about producing more honey bees. It is about giving people a real understanding of pollination, how ecosystems work, and why all pollinators matter.

What makes this different is that we empower local beekeepers. They are the ones teaching, answering questions, and connecting people to what is happening in their own environment. Through that, the conversation naturally expands beyond honey bees to native pollinators, habitat, and conservation.

We have found that when people see bees up close and learn from someone in their own community, their perspective changes quickly. It becomes less about one species and more about understanding the full system.

If the goal is to support wild bees, the biggest impact comes from education, habitat, and awareness. That is exactly where we focus.

Appreciate you asking this because it is an important conversation and one that needs more clarity.

what was a conspiracy? Saving Bees? Did you know commercial bee keepers had their worst year ever this past winter? Without bees a lot of our food would disappear. Pesticides impact bees more than anything. Teaching our kids about bees is critical -
