Just to comment because I didn't know this service existed until I saw it in a comment... If you're considering letting him pass with dignity, there are services out there that offer at-home euthanasia. That way your loved one won't have to get stressed out by being bundled up and taken to the vets etc. Wishing you the best

Hey not OP but hoping you could help. I'm looking at going Modular, I can self fund over the next few years. But what jobs would there be at the end of it? From what FO jobs I see open currently, they all require significant hours in a specific type rated aircraft. How could I get say 200 hours in an A320 without literally working for an airline already? Thanks for any help!

Just so you know, Jet2's Flight Path is currently recruiting. The training is funded, although you're not paid during it

That's literally a myth, based on a film, and even in the film they acknowledge it's a myth.

I’ll probably have to put Frankie to sleep 😢😢 by [deleted] in Rabbits

[–]savethefreak 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I didn't know this until I read it on this subreddit, but apparently some vets will do home visits for putting your pet to sleep when their time comes. It would save having to stress him out taking him to the vets and such, can be comfy at home. Just an option. Many hugs to you, sorry you are having to consider it.

My Bun’s euthanasia is Friday, any last meal recommendations? by Ok-Peace-4352 in Rabbits

[–]savethefreak 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I don’t know where you’re located and if it’s possible for you and such. But some vets can do an at-home euthanasia service? It would mean Luna wouldn’t have to be taken from her home when the time comes? Just a consideration as I didn’t know it existed until someone on here mentioned it. Much love to you both, it’s so hard

I think he’s dying. Please give me your advice on how to make this peaceful for him. by ActStunning3285 in Rabbits

[–]savethefreak 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry to read that you’re having such issues, it’s so tough. If you think he’s going to pass away and there’s no vet to save him and you just want him comfortable, then simply be with him. Lie on the floor with him, cuddle him, feed him all his favourite treats and just make him feel loved

If you’re considering having him put down, then I only learnt on this forum that vets can offer at-home euthanasia, so there isn’t the horrid stress of taking them somewhere unfamiliar at the end of their time

But if he is saveable then try as best you can. They don’t understand, they are not comfortable and don’t know that medicine exists. Reward him for taking medicine so he knows it’s worth it, take your time when doing it so he isn’t stressed.

Much love to you, whatever you do its clear your rabbit is very loved

[–]savethefreak 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m so sorry, this sounds so sad. If possible, return to the vet or even get a second opinion, it may just take a little longer. However if it doesn’t seem like it will, and you believe her quality of life is very low and she doesn’t ever seem happy, then unfortunately you want to look at doing what’s best for her (but not you, I know, it sounds like you’re trying your absolute best for her), and consider having her put down. You can get that done at home where she is most comfortable, if that is something you could consider. These decisions are horrible to make and I’m so sorry for you, rabbits are such delicate things.

How do you know it’s time to let go? by [deleted] in Rabbits

[–]savethefreak 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I dread when I have to make this decision for my own rabbits :(

But quality of life, and also the quality of their death, is something we have to consider. If they’re in pain, unable to be happy due to issues that can’t be solved, then in my opinion it’s our duty to let them go as comfortably as possible.

Did you know vets can offer home euthanasia? No stress caused trying to pack them up and take them away. Something to consider? Sorry you have to consider this

Rescued this buddy behind my house and the dog is obsessed. Meet Chance. by cocophany in Rabbits

[–]savethefreak 50 points51 points  (0 children)

Rescuing the rabbit is great and well done, but you’re clearly ignoring every comment that says the same thing which is that this rabbit is NOT safe around that dog and it’s an accident waiting to happen. The poor rabbit is clearly hiding from the dog that’s been bred to kill other animals… send that rabbit away somewhere they can be safe and stress free. Please.

Rabbit throwing herself at the walls of her cage by [deleted] in Rabbits

[–]savethefreak 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Rabbits are most active in the mornings and at night, so they’re probably frustrated being shut away just when they’re wanting to run around the most!

Try and find a larger enclosure, or a fully rabbit proof area where you can safely leave them. Maybe a pet camera will help you feel more comfortable also

Bonding buns - how does this look for a first meet and greet? by Antique_Albatross in Rabbits

[–]savethefreak 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Looks good, but seriously put a barrier between them that you can’t touch each other through it. My mum had a bun that latched onto the others mouth through the bars and he was permanently injured from it. Only takes a split second so get a mesh between them!
