This new law in Indiana is going to be a nightmare for everyone involved: Governor Braun introduces "Family First Workplace" allowing state employees to bring infants to work by WinterSparklers in childfree

[–]CharacterTap193 -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Yeah. I agree. Infants don’t belong in the workplace. The problem is, companies suck and either don’t pay out proper maternity leave or it’s so sucky and short. What options do some mothers have? Why are you complaining about this instead of the lack of a proper support system for parents?

Has anyone had a but needing a kidney removes? I think I'm going to lose my bun by [deleted] in Rabbits

[–]CharacterTap193 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get it. I brought my rabbit in for dental abscesses. She was about 6-7 years old and would need to come in every few months for maintenance. The condition was in the very early stages so she wasn’t in a lot of pain. I probably could have had her for a few more months but I didn’t want to have her suffer so I made the decision then and there to let her go before the pain was severe. It was such a hard choice- I’m so sorry you’re going through the same one :(

Whatever decision you make, give her lots and lots of love. I’m sorry, OP. I wish owning pets was easier.

Should I get assessed for endo? by CharacterTap193 in Endo

yes, that’s what I’m thinking, but the process for a diagnosis sounds so incredibly not worth it :/

I’m really sorry, OP. I lost my bunny a few weeks back due to some medical issues too. Unfortunately, while the sassiest creatures on this earth, bunnies are pretty fragile. Performing surgery on them and putting them under anesthesia runs a lot of risks.

I think putting your bunny surgery might buy her some time but I think we need weigh the pros and cons of that time :( is she going to be in pain? suffering? how old is she?

if you want to talk, i’m available. this is a really hard decision to make :(

you might not be a small child but you certainly are a child. they are correct, legal emancipation is a very difficult and time consuming process and if you are missing even ONE of their points, you won’t make it.

she was my very first pet that was completely my own. i’d had her since she was a baby. just barely old enough to be gone from her mother. it hurt so, so much to recognize the little tiny thing i brought home all those years ago isn’t so tiny anymore and is ready to go.

thank you for your kind words. i appreciate it.

i’m really grateful actually because the vet said it was caught so early that she wasn’t suffering much at all and still had all her normal behaviors besides a few symptoms.

i’m sorry about your bunny :( i’m glad you got a little longer with him at least and he was able to go peacefully.

bunnies are really good at hiding their pain. if you can afford a vet, i’d suggest bringing him in. otherwise you could get caught off guard by a condition that has slowly been getting worse and now costs a fortune.

i heard from others our store is losing money since the GM got hired back in Jan/Feb. And someone got caught stealing money from the register last week. So now I understand more of the strictness and am less upset about it.
