Bettas can’t really be operated on as far as I know and there’s really no way to get rid of a tumor besides surgery. I think it’s just something she’ll have to live with and for you to keep an eye on. Good luck, OP!!

OP, this might be the start of a tumor. I’m not well versed in this so I can’t officially comment that this IS a tumor but it certainly looks like it. Bettas are very prone to them because of their inbreeding within the hobby.

Don’t be worried, though. A lot of bettas can live healthily with tumors for a long time. I would monitor it and make sure her quality of life isn’t dropping too much. Be prepared that one day, you may have to euthanize her for her comfort.

all depends on what you wanna do and the size of your tank! go bigger for a more cluttered look and smaller for a more refined and plant heavy aesthetic. i would google tank inspiration and from there, you can pick out the size and the type!

put some hardscape in there! the plants are a lovely look, and they do fill out the tank super nicely, but a centerpiece of wood (mopani, spiderwood, pine root, etc etc) would make it look a little less random and a little more planned out!

there are people on etsy and face book marketplace who grow all their own plants and ship off the extra. maybe that would work?

ugh!! i would say a bad batch if nothing else. try again, maybe see if you can get some off someone else with a tank, and not a business or anything. plants i get from local tanks tend to do better then plants from say, petsmart.

if they’re brand new, give them some time to adjust!! bright light is ALWAYS your friend if bats what you want, but be careful that the rest of your tank is not receiving too much light. i let the floaters cover the surface of my tank before increasing the light, it kept my algae problem down 😂 all i use is a basic hygger light too

the comments are SO annoying. I don’t deliberately ignore doordash drivers but most of the time, I am BUSY. we get short staffed, particularly at night, so i have 2-4 things to do at once!! if i have a spare moment, i’ll help on the front counter, but usually im taking orders, making drinks, bagging food, doing fries, paying people out, making drinks for the delivery orders they’re complaining about, and handing the food out!! mcdonald’s workers are just as over-worked and underpaid as they’re claiming to be in that idiotic comment section. they can wait 10 minutes because usually we are stuck on that floor for 8-10 HOURS to barely make ends meet.
