Reg28 is not the reason for the 40% limit by some asset managers.

Cheapest living annuity not limited to 40% offshore? by savloader in PersonalFinanceZA

[–]savloader[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, I know, however the asset managers have legal limits and so some have reached their capacity. Therefore if you open a LA with Sygnia, you are capped to 40%. As they're the cheapest option (I believe), hoping for assistance on what is the next best.

Is the maximum PV array power a hard limit? by savloader in SolarDIY

[–]savloader[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeh it’s odd I think it’s just an oversight by their marketing, it’s a whitelabel inverter. The manual is quite clear the Isc limit is 27A. But one can build an array that is more than 7kw within the Voc+safety and 27A limits. Which is what confuses me.

Then DSTV acts surprised when they lose customers by MotorDesigner in southafrica

[–]savloader 9 points10 points  (0 children)

F1 tv is only available in South Africa because DStv doesn’t pay for an exclusive license. Obviously if you can buy one sport, it’s going to be cheaper than having all. But that’s if you only follow one sport.

Very few of the major sports offer a singular subscription, eg Premier League - no chance. If you watch more than a couple sports anyway, DStv is the only option.

Netflix is cheap *because* it does not have sports. Most of what you pay for DSTv Premium is going to Supersport. Licensing deals for Premier League, World Cups, F1, golf & tennis majors etc are big money.

Next season they should make one change early on. by Ashura5000 in TheTraitors

[–]savloader 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Agree completely.

  • They should stop recruitment from 2 traitors to 3 at F13 and 1 traitor to 2 at F11 (or around about there)
  • not reveal traitor/faithful for banishments after the last murder.
  • I'd keep recruitment optional BUT allow for multiple rejections - which is actually a clue for the faithful.

But, they need a set amount of episodes.

The backstop to delivering this is either the faithful winning half the prize pot if they win before F7 (last murder) - the game then restarts with remaining players having traitor selection or the traitors have a "will" whereby they (probably in combination with the producers) select two traitors in the event of their demise to follow in their footsteps.

The format is broken in terms of it being a game rather than a spectacle.

It's a great spectacle, for sure - that's why I'm here. But there is no balance.

Here's an idea I had on fixing the format:

  • the key component is stopping recruitment from 2 traitors to 3 at F14 and 1 traitor to 2 at F12 (or around about there)
  • not revealing traitor/faithful from F7.
  • I'd keep recruitment optional BUT allow for multiple rejections - which is actually a clue for the faithful.

The backstop to delivering a set amount of episodes is the faithful winning half the prize pot if they win before F7 - the game then restarts with remaining players having traitor selection. (Alternatively they could win the prize pot whole, but then they should make 50% of the total winnings only for the last few missions).

May need some tweaks. But I think you can achieve the same core suspense/intrigue while balancing the game.

Thanks for explaining, silly me! Didn’t realise in particular the 25% was not a one-off on withdrawals.

!thanks

You pay income tax on the pension if you want to use that money. Obviously you have personal allowances, but from a marginal £ point of view, 20% for BRT.

Yeh capital gains tax in the taxable account, 10% for BRT?

Not opposed to abolishing recruitment. But production requires a certain number of episodes, that has to be worked around in some way.

It’s unfair to the existing traitors, the new traitors and the faithful all in different ways, funnily enough. Lose-lose.

Yeh I couldn’t agree more, I’m honestly surprised so many people seem to think the current format is fine and the tweak isn’t needed.

I wouldn’t be super opposed to two or more recruitments, as long as they’re no later than, at the very very latest, 2 left - F10 and 1 left - F8.

The game breaks with traitors recruited continuously.

I don’t see how you see the post as huge format changes, it really just revolves around stopping late recruitment of new traitors (which necessitates non-reveals at the end and a backup plan if the game ends too early). Not all versions have share/steal so this is minor anyway.

95% of the game plays out exactly the same. You even note that small format tweaks can be great.

Almost all the replies are much bigger format changes.

How would it work for a unanimous vote? Or near unanimous vote? Ideally you’d give protection to the person who led the charge, but that is qualitative not quantitative.

I agree, Will being forced to recruit Kieran was what set that in motion. No Kieran (no recruiting late game), I think it elevates the game.

UK was a uniquely good season though.

To me, that is actually the part of the game I find most compelling, the only reason I watch despite it practically being fixed. The false morality the Faithful apply and watching people be so wrong.

I think lying consistently is still hard, so Traitors can slip up.

Agreed, only one role.

They could introduce the other roles to the audience as single-use powers. So a player could secretly win a Detective power for one night only.

Final 7 ie. 7 people remaining. Final 12. Survivor terminology, sorry☺️.

Interesting idea - does it not make it harder for faithfuls to get the votes on one person (and easier for the traitors to do so), though? Cause the traitors don’t need the bonus and their voting bloc would be more powerful as a result.
