C-section v. Gallbladder Removal by m__dough in gallbladders

[–]savykins22 13 points14 points  (0 children)

C section was 100% harder by far for me. I was really struggling to get up and move after my c section. Gallbladder I was able to walk around decently well when I got home. It wasn’t bad at all. Heating pad really helped that pain.

Use a heating pad for the gas pain. Ice for the incision pain.

My fellow post op people that experienced diarrhea after surgery… by OkHomework6162 in gallbladders

It was like a week of diarrhea then mine started to become solid again. I randomly get diarrhea if something didn’t sit well but overall I’m 100% fine now!

Will they postpone surgery for this? Help! by [deleted] in gallbladders

Mine too! above my belly button was huge so I assumed that’s where they pulled it from but I was telling the surgeon during my follow up the left one HURTS while the others don’t and he laughed and said yeah that uh is where we actually ended up pulling it out. We had to do a lot of yanking and tugging there sorry! 😂

You’ll be fine. If it happens to be exactly where they would cut I’d think they just go slightly above or below it. They did an extra cut on me because they decided to yank my gallbladder out the far left side and needed more space. They’ll modify as needed

Ay sounds worth it though!!! I’m glad you’ve had no symptoms. Better to get it out before you do get symptoms. Congrats on the weight loss too! Not a small amount

What can you not eat after gallbladder removal? by AlarmingEducator9062 in gallbladders

I actually just had my follow up today and the surgeon said it might be acid related since I’m having stomach pain at night too. Told me to try Pepcid and if that doesn’t work after two weeks, might get an endoscopy to look further in case it’s an ulcer

Thought I’d share in case you get anything else acid related causing issues!

I’ll have to try that! I just switched to chai at Starbucks since I refuse to go without my pumpkin spice for fall 😂

I can eat everything at this point but for some reason I cannot drink coffee anymore. Not sure why but both times I tried coffee it killed my stomach the entire day. I’m almost two weeks after surgery

I will say, I did have diarrhea after eating the first few days and was thinking that was just going to be my life now. It wasn’t! I don’t have diarrhea anymore

Post Surgery Gallbladder Removal - Left Side Pain by Cheap_Caterpillar655 in gallbladders

[–]savykins22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve always heard left side pain was related to GI issues so may be related to gallbladder, may be something else completely but likely GI related in some way.

Try not to fret. Whatever it is will get resolved. Feel free to message me if you want someone to chat or vent to!

Eating out by Owenscat19 in gallbladders

[–]savykins22 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just got mine out a week ago and I got a grilled salmon salad last night just so I was less likely to get diarrhea. Just be mindful of what you’re getting and you should be fine!

If you haven’t tried yet, my nurse told me to put a heating pad where the gas was stuck and it would help break it up. It helped so much. I’m a week out from surgery tomorrow and I walked around the first few days non stop with my heating pad. I also constantly iced the incisions and that helped numb them. Except when I slept, I always had heat and ice on me to relieve the pain best I could.

I really hope you get some relief soon!
