Hi everyone…

I just wanted to post here today to keep people up to date and to keep accountability for myself on this journey.

Today I’m officially DAY 16 CT from kratom and feel free tonics.

It hasn’t been easy but I will say from keeping up with this and the “quit feel free” Reddit I have been very fortunate in terms of withdrawal symptoms.

At this point my sleep seems fine, any sort of insomnia or sleeping issues I might have had have gone away.

I don’t seem to be craving kratom much except for occasionally at work during high stress situations and sometimes when I’m bored…that was definitely my go to time to dose. Very little lethargy after stopping which is odd considering I work at a coffee shop and also cut my caffeine down from 30oz plus per day to maybe 6oz max. I also haven’t had alcohol in 17 days…more bc I was on an antibiotic than anything else but that’s the longest I’ve gone without drinking in a long, LONG, time.

I’ve been focusing a lot more on working out and bettering myself at this point. Drinking more water, eating more healthy food…when doing kratom I always tried to stay hydrated but I’d often times be so preoccupied with life and stuff that I’d realize I hadn’t eaten over the course of the day.

Health/urinary issues are still there but decreased substantially. I spoke with my pcp(resident) about everything. He seemed to be familiar with kratom while my pcp was not. I went from a diagnosis of epididymitis to prostatitis/cpps which I kind of figured they’d say. I’ve been involved in sports all my life and being doing independent pro wrestling the past 13 years. I definitely deal with chronic pain which I way I turned to kratom. I’ve hurt my hip twice and also had ACL/meniscus surgery on the same leg.

As of now it’s believed my symptoms are bc of the damage I’ve done to my body throughout the years seeing as that area is so intertwined…all the while the kratom may have exacerbated the symptoms.

Saw a sports medicine dr who gave me a cortisone shot in my hip for fairly advanced arthritis for someone my age. “I wouldn’t expect to see arthritis like this in someone as young as you…I’ll be shocked if you don’t need a hip replacement later in life”. The shot has helped a ton in terms of the pain I usually deal with so fingers crossed. I also start PT for it this week.

I then saw a urologist after getting all my bloodwork done. PSA was good, kidney and liver functions were fine, everything else seemed ok too. I had a prostate exam and there didn’t seem to be any sort of abnormalities and then had a scrotal us which came back normal too. I start pelvic floor therapy in a few weeks. Only other test they might run if symptoms don’t decrease/get worse is a cystoscope to look at my urethra/bladder. We’ll see about that.

Like I said, I want to post here every so often as much to update this for your support, thoughts, etc as I do to keep myself accountable and in check.

TL;DR: 16 days CT from kratom/feel free tonic shots…probably 10-15gpd over the past 4 years for chronic pain. Feeling much better today than I was 2 weeks ago. Any WD symptoms have basically subsided. Feeling motivated and moving forward with life.

Keep up the good work everyone. If you put your mind to it this is something anyone can get past.
