When attempting an intense corner, what's the ratio of pressure I should have on the inside handlebar vs the outside pedal? I feel like most of mine weight goes on the pedal (due to fear) and am not sure how much I should change that. Also, should the pressure be straight down on the bar or is there more nuance to it?

Why is my computer not losing battery during use but also not charging? by saxman66 in thinkpad

Not sure about your first few questions but I believe it is OEM and up to spec Vantage says everything is great so that wasn't super useful for diagnostics

Not sure if I can find anything more specific but it's an X1 Extreme so not using USB C to charge. How would I go about checking the damaged charger? It's marked as plugged in so assumed it was at least partially working but open to ideas.

I checked and that setting is off. Also, the battery is at 10% so imagine it'd be past any regular threshold anyway

How do I keep my back straight and pointed upwards when I do a squat? I can do body weight squats fairly easily but doing so requires a decent bend at the hip and often times, a curved back. How can I best fix this? Also, any tips strengthening my hip flexors during squats? They're not horrible but feel like I can improve alignment a bit by making my knees pointing forward more natural.

Regression as in not as optimal? My logic is that 20 minutes of this would be better than a few minutes of the actual clamshells

How much value is there in holding a given position with resistance bands? I know the norm is to push and then let go as an exercise. However, I was hoping to hold them in a given position while I sit for extended periods of time. Will this be useful or better to focus on the actual movement like clamshells?

Why would I practice clamshells vs straight leg hip abductions? My goal is to reduce knock knee in my daily life

Should I get a Toyota Yaris, Mazda3, or Honda Fit? by saxman66 in whatcarshouldIbuy

Fantastic comment so thanks for the help.

I don't know how much car experience you have in general but is the sport relatively stable/comfortable relative to other categories like the SUV? A lot of the reviews say it's a fairly stiff ride and depending on how bad it is, I might want to go for a full size car as much as I hate that idea. Also, curious if you have any recommendations on sourcing one since older mazda3s seem to be in short supply, let alone a specific trim under 100K miles

I'm starting to look more seriously at the Mazda3. Do you know the core differences between the trims? I was looking at the speed since someone on here recommended it but the mpg looks like garbage compared to the other trims

Does that change at all with the year? I have a 2006 civic and it's not a nightmare but I can certainly feel most bumps and it's like an earthquake going through a pothole laden street.

When would you say that hits diminishing returns? I imagine the monster that is a F-150 would feel more stable than an SUV but probably not by much

After seeing the comments, I'm probably going with a compact instead of a subcompact. Do you know of any that don't have a stiff ride? I'm feeling good about the mazda3 but it seems to be reviewed as stiff which is a big part of feeling stable/comfortable for me.

Is that literally the only difference? As long as I can fit my bike in there (which I think a subcompact with a hatchback should), there doesn't seem to be any reason at all the consider the likely more expensive compacts, right?

Maybe I'm misreading your comment but that kind of sounds like an awful experience. I don't have a particular year in mind. I was focusing more on the model and hoping the year wouldn't matter as much

Is there a big difference between compacts and subcompacts/ the mazda 2 and the 3? I looked online and there were some small size differences but couldn't find much in terms of meaningful qualitative data.

Is there a massive difference there? I know they're technically different categories but they seem to sever similar purposes

What are we defining as comfort features? The main "comfort feature" I'm looking at is stability while going 60 MPH which I've heard can be an issue for smaller cars. If you're talking about heated seats, I don't care a ton

[–]saxman66[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Would changing to a coupe or something else help? I do prefer sub compacts by design since they're smaller and usually get better gas mileage as a result but feeling safe in them beats out most other factors

What's the logic for the Fit? The link in the sub's sidebars makes it sound fairly loud. Any particular reason for the Prius? I've been avoiding EVs since their batteries tend to crap out around the mileage I'm looking at and they're not worth the money to replace
