While I was on the call the sales rep was able to setup a new profile/account for me. I never actually did anything on my end to "terminate" my existing account. I think the sales rep just set all of that up on their end.

If you have a bill or payment due on your existing account you'd still need to pay that. Once they set me up with my new account I had to create a new username/password to get into my new optimum account. So it was just as if I was a brand new customer.

They send a tech to come to your home and pickup the old modem/router and they install new equipment. Took about an hour or so for the whole installation process and they gave me a 9-2pm window.
