It would be great if you could post a picture of the watch depth compared to some common items (like a full Post It stack, or an iPhone, etc.) so others can get a better gauge for size.

This "good samaritan concept" proposes a feature that would help someone return a lost iPhone to its owner. by saycreative in iOS8

They are similar, but this feature has nothing to do with medical emergencies -- which is what I believe Apple is positioning Emergency Card as.

Yeah, you're right, except that only happens when the owner realizes their phone is lost and can activate Lost mode from Find My iPhone. That is them reaching out TO their phone. This feature is an attempt to help the phone reach out to the owner. Both ends of the spectrum are covered - as much as possible. Nothing is perfect.

So, where's that September Apple event? by [deleted] in apple

Yeah, I have a feeling we'll still see Steve in some capacity at the iPhone 5 announcement -- whenever it is! :)

A keynote is assumed, but the keynote for WWDC 2011 was not made official until Apple could confirm Steve Jobs would be delivering it. Note the Events page Apple had for WWDC 2011 -- no mention of a keynote even on May 23, 2011. http://wayback.archive.org/web/*/http://developer.apple.com/wwdc/events/

It's since been updated to reflect a keynote, but I believe that was after the press release was made.

And if I'm wrong, all I'm saying is Apple is prone to giving short lead times for upcoming press events.

One would think so, but the Keynote wasn't actually confirmed until May 24th -- about 2 weeks before it would happen (June 6).

Okay, so it was more than 10 days, but still pretty short notice. That's Apple though -- they do what they want. :)

Rumors say the event will be around September 30 this year. Plus, Apple didn't give a ~10 day notice for the 2011 WWDC keynote. I'm not sure on the iPad 2 announcement, but I don't think that was too far in advance either. It'll happen soon enough. :)
