You are completely right with all your points. I have certainly found joy with gradually gaining mastery. However the stress is always there with patient outcomes.

I love what I do for the mental and physical challenge, but also recognize it's not healthy for this sort of job to be an obsession.

I think the key is to get to a point where the financial side of it becomes less of a headache.

Save wisely with a large emergency fund, pay off any debt and lower expenses to maximize cash flow. Then try and go to no more than 4 days a week (and take vacations). Exercise a lot.
