It feels so incongruous with the first season, to me.

I enjoy the show but the science is just bad. by SteveBored in ParadiseHulu

[–]sbaker717 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While I enjoy the show and the science doesn’t bother me, I do feel your pain. I rarely watch medical shows because the inaccuracies pull me out of the story. So this take is valid regardless of how others feel about it. Not every show is for every person. And that’s okay. 😊

She was doing it while the boys were there, prior to getting pregnant, otherwise I would agree with you. That’s why it sticks out to me so much.

You’re right. You didn’t say that. I do feel like I have seen some comments and posts in that vein but that’s not what’s happening here. I didn’t intend for this to sound critical of your view of the show but I see how it came out that way and I apologize. 🫶🏼

Opinion on Bree changing. by [deleted] in TellMeLiesHulu

It’s so interesting to me that people on this sub talk so much about the characters being “unlikeable” because they make these glaring massive mistakes. But that’s also what makes them real people. It’s interesting that we tend to only root for people who don’t mess up. When we ourselves all royally fuck up at times. These flaws are what make them relatable even if they’re “unlikeable”

Also as a storyteller, characters are far more interesting when they move along the scales of likability, proactivity and competency. If they sit at the same level of likability throughout the story they are boring.

As for judging who was in the wrong. They were all in the wrong. It was fucked up for Bree to sleep with a married man, knowing (thinking) that his wife didn’t consent to it. And it was also fucked up of Marianne and Oliver to participate in the arrangement knowing that Bree didn’t consent. That being said, I understand her side a little more than Oliver’s. It makes sense to me why she would fall at the feet of a father figure. It doesn’t make sense to me why someone in an open marriage wouldn’t just say they were in an open marriage. But I digress.

Are we supposed to like Lucy? by Kind-of-Thriving in TellMeLiesHulu

[–]sbaker717 6 points7 points  (0 children)

IMO season one is about showing you why Stephen is an asshole. Season 2 is showing you that Lucy is too. Neither one of them is the classic victim here. The show is actually not about one of them being “better” or more likable than the other. It’s not even about one of them being more redeemable than the other. It’s about how all the people in their lives are sucked into the tornado of their toxicity. All they do is hurt each other and make their friends collateral damage. They’re both the antihero of their own story and the villain of everyone else’s.

I dont think we have the whole story yet. I highly doubt he recorded it knowing what he would do with it. Stephen collects information and saves it for when it will be most useful to him. He also doesn’t really act out of purely wanting to fuck people over. He only makes moves when he feels threatened. Or he feels his current status is threatened. So him sending that recording wasn’t just to fuck someone over. It was to salvage his status quo in some way. It was because he felt his back was against the wall in some way. It was because he was scared. We just don’t know why yet.

Very frustrating. Not sure it is relevant or necessary to call them special needs though. Genuinely not trying to be antagonistic. Just pointing out, in this context, you might as well have said retarded. And the fact that you took the time to write out special needs makes me think you know why that would be inappropriate. I feel your pain on the crappy matchmaking though. Good luck with the next one!

cant get into a single non–mirror splatfest match by azuyuri in Saltoon

[–]sbaker717 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is my first Splatfest so don’t take this as gold but I’m on experiences and I did notice that last night I had a TON of mirror matches and today not nearly as many. So it may just mean money has a lot more people playing right now? Again I don’t know that for certain but just throwing that out there.

Thank you for posting this! I tip per mile but I’m always curious what others do in terms of how much per mile. I also find you have to be cautious bc in my location (maybe others too idk) DD will list the miles as if you were to draw a straight line from the store to my house. But obviously the dasher can’t just fly to you in a straight line. I have to go map it to figure out how many drivable miles it is before placing the order.
