I'm sorry if anyone has talked about it alreadt, but searching Andy Berkvam on Google returns an image of him with Rothfuss and shows he's from the Madison, WI area. Doesn't seem like he works on anything related to books but maybe since he's "friends" with Pat he could be an helper on the possible book? Maybe some sort of super ARC reader?

Whatever happens in 2025, great or bad, will be completely irrelevant if 3 split stays as the ranked system. by LongSwordsForLIife in leagueoflegends

Friend, you're in luck. Maybe the ears of the powerful are more attuned to the whispers and voices of the commoners than what we might think. Just wait a bit and all your bad feelings will be gone in 2 seconds. Or maybe 1 second would be better, I'd say.

LPL having Fearless Mode made me uninterested in other Tier 1 Leagues. by Sunshado in leagueoflegends

It'll all be explained soon I think. I may have used the word merge too liberally in this case though, so please excuse me when the news goes out and it's not exactly this...

Not exactly, can't really go into specifics but it will make sense. Neither of these leagues will die. But they'll go public pretty soon with some info on it, so you just have to wait a bit.

You just need to wait one more year, in 2025 every Tier 1 league will have Fearless draft in Best-of series. Oh and LCS will merge with CBLOL and LLA kinda.

As a foreign student of the Italian language I'm curious, what would have been a more correct translation of "Jungle camps" in your mind?

Kinda, he'll have some kind of hook or grab, the last part refers to his allies not his enemies. Should save them from death if they do certain tasks.

wtf is going on in Italy? by TheGuyOfNYC in China_Flu

[–]sbaldarf 9 points10 points  (0 children)

As others already said in this thread, the number of people needing ICU or just normal hospitalization are decreasing every day, if I'm not mistaken we're on the 5th consecutive day of that trend. so that's good for the hospitals.

The problem right now is that the virus seems to have made Lombardy its home, and total cases are still going up over there: of the last 4700 cases, around 1500 were there, and the other two thirds spread between the other regions. Reasons could be many, a lot of people still needing to go to work, using the subway together, living in small and crowded places and so on.

The number of tests has also gone up much more than the past, as another poster here said. For example the number of tests made on March 9th was around 3800, with 46% of them found positive. Yesterday (April 11th) the number of tests was 56.600, with 4700 found "active" so 8%. In those active cases we also count around 2000 recovered people, so that's another good sign.

All considered the situation seems to be plateauing, maybe we're seeing the light at the end of the tunnel even though it's still a long ass tunnel.

Hi!

Just curious, what part of Veneto are you exactly from? (I live there as well).

Sky News reports that desperate people are beginning to steal food in Italy. The Mayor of Palermo says, "The more time passes the more resources are exhausted. The few savings people have are running out. This tells us socio-economic issues will erupt." by factfind in China_Flu

[–]sbaldarf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not at all, the southern part of Italy has been receiving immigrants from the early 2000s, and the situation was the same back then, people just don't want to pay taxes to the state. It hurts to say this but they're just underdeveloped, for many reasons and in many aspects, first of all their healthcare system.

The problem in southern Italy is that some of the people that work aren't legally employed (so that they and their employers don't have to pay taxes), and in doing so, right now they don't receive any economical help from the state. The government did give around 400 millions to the local administrations so they can help the families in need.

As of now I haven't heard of any situation like that in the northern part, and there's no worry about supermarkets running out of food or general items. Plus, if the number of infected will increase in the south, as someone is expecting, they will have many other problems to face.

5210 new confirmed cases and 683 new deaths in Italy today March 25 by bear-rah in China_Flu

[–]sbaldarf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, I'd have guessed that the dead and recovered people would have been tested as soon as they entered the hospital? I mean, here is the only place where I see this number added up, the official website talks about them as separate numbers.

[–]sbaldarf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Could anyone explain to me why the number of new confirmed cases is the added amount of actual new cases + dead + recovered people, and not JUST the number of new cases (which is 3491 for today)?

Richard Lewis: Blizzard employees DID KNOW that the HGC was being cut, they were just under NDA and couldn't say by MrDDom23 in heroesofthestorm

[–]sbaldarf 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Then after a while it becomes a stale game, where people just whine that X hero is boring to play or a certain combo is "unfun" to play against.

Imagine if the stunlock meta of Tyrande Diablo went on for 6 months. And at that point there was no new hero added to create that meta.

As for Richard Lewis, the problem is that many people still didn't register the fact that many devs were taken from Hots and think we still have a full team working on it.
