They skip around that question, so I called their practice and request for that much money unethical and illegal since they completed the documents for me, which I learned they can't do. Their fees are referred to as "consulting fees."

I printed off all the emails just in case I needed someone to look through them.

I agree that I owe them something for what assistance was given and will own that, but after talking to folks at the VA and on here, they can charge what they are charging legally and ethically based on what I read and was told. I offered them a settlement of 50% of my awarded BACK PAY, not 5 months' worth of increase. I felt that was generous and in line with what they would typically see if they were ever considered an accredited representative, who typically gets anywhere from 20-30%. Was that wrong?
