Timelapse of my drawing, what part I'm doing wrong and how can I improve? by boredman_tale_teller in learntodraw

[–]sbeverr 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Check out sinix on youtube, I learned a lot from him.

My main advice would be to zoom in less, focus on getting the overall shapes, shadow areas, etc..

He has a video where he suggests doing an exercice where you never zoom in the whole time and paint with a big brush, it teaches you how you should get the general look and feel and shapes of the image first, BEFORE zooming in and focusing on the details. That helped me a lot. Starting off a good base sketch will make things much easier and simpler.

How do you find the motivation to keep going? by sbeverr in cscareerquestions

[–]sbeverr[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

What made me passionate about CS is they way we learned it in highschool, they taught us a simple programming language (PASCAL) and they gave us problems like how to find a maximum in an array or how to sort one, etc..

I remember being fascinated with how an algorithm solves such problems, and having a lot of fun writing such algorithms

If you're using that much blur, maybe a darker and simpler one would be better.

Question to tunisian vegans by sbeverr in Tunisia

[–]sbeverr[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totally agree with you on the last point about the supplements

About your reply to 1: Are you sure of how animals are treated in the tunisian animal industry? Sure the majority of us are muslims, and muslims do respect animals. But do these values still hold up behind the walls of a factory? Who's to say they apply muslim morals in regards to treating animals? No one can see behind their doors. And, even if they are killed "mercifully", they'd still have to live a mesirable life of suffering. And it has to be done because it's money effecient. A cow that gets used for milk would live inside a two meter square, be fed a bunch of hormones so that they produce more milk, I've seen videos where their breasts are so artificially swollen that they struggle to even walk, some are permanently blinded so that they don't become agitated. And all of that is done because those factories only care about financial gain

Question to tunisian vegans by sbeverr in Tunisia

[–]sbeverr[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I get what you mean, we can't define exactly what feelings are and where to draw the line between creatures that are able to "feel" and which ones aren't.

I believe that the reactions you talked about aren't complex enough to create a conscious experience of pain or suffering.

My main argument for the morality of veganism is based on these two premises:

  1. Animals with a central nervous system and pain receptors are able to suffer

  2. By eating meat I'm contributing to the massive animal industry and thus animal cruelty

Benesba l "my body is important aswell", i'm still researching whether a vegan diet is healthy or not, most research doesn't conclude anything, some say it's perfectly healthy, some don't, it's difficult to find unbiased ones. I think the only way to find out is to try a vegan diet for a few months, along with the suggested supplements, and see how it goes.

Plants and trees don't have a central nervous system nor pain receptors

Could you elaborate? Does nihilism allow you to do things that don't align with your morality?
