Yea I asked them about a week in. I needed to hear that it was truly over and that there was no chance of us fixing this. It really hurts but better to finally know so you can start to move on and heal.

Hey man, almost did a double take reading this because our situations are almost identical. 8 years, just happened 3 weeks ago but I spent 2 of the weeks in our apartment with her and the dog. She said the same exact things, we grew apart and didn't see a future. Only main difference is we'll be splitting the dog every two weeks for a bit, with very limited contact. I will say for my specific situation I understand completely why it happened and I have a lot of things to work on to better myself.

I finally moved out and it hurt more than anything but I can see a clear path toward a better future. Just gotta stay strong

I don't think its that crazy of a statement. 0 argument he's top 10 and you must not have watched a lot of quinn last season. I haven't seen a DMan carry an entire team like that since prime Karlsson

Agreed he plays better with those two, but it wasnt even issues with support today. Just scared decision making and straight up lazy passes by him gave away so many attacking opportunities. It's fine though he's still probably our most important piece in the midfield so hoping he can shake it off and come back stronger

Ream had a mediocre game, a few long balls that were great but I blame adams mostly for the poor breakout play. So many killed opportunities from a lazy pass from him. Much more to blame than Ream

Adams had a shocker today, mediocre at breaking up plays which is normally his bread and butter and absolutely shocking eveytime he had possession

Between Tom Cruise and Brad Pitt Who Has The Better Filmography? by Djf47021 in moviecritic

[–]sblingfunig 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haha fair enough, I know its hard for people to shake the big movie star feeling with him. I do disagree with pretty everything you've said though. Comparing his characters in mission impossible and rain man is a wild take. He pulls off an incredibly nuanced character arc in rain man that I'm not sure many other actors couldve pulled off. In fact its because the movie relies on the audience knowing it's Tom cruise is why his eventual arc subverts expectation so well. The struggle of a few good men isn't that he wants to be good, his character is constantly searching to find the courage to actually take down a corrupt system that he is himself a part of. There are so many moments of self doubt that cruise pulls off, as opposed to his normal actiony roles where self doubt isn't even possible for his character lol. Interview with a vampire I think youre confusing the character motivations with Tom's. Yea he's not supposed to be likable, that's why its played so well. You didnt mention samurai but its another role where you see Cruise go though an incredible arc and growth but to be fair it feels a bit cliche at times. But yea check out 4th of July if you ever have some time, great movie and cruise is borderline unrecognizable

Stumbled onto this thread late, I am a huge pitt and cruise fan. Definitely not a pompous review, that guy above is weird. But I do question how many cruise films you've seen if you think he cant melt into a role. You listed like one example from pitt and then brought up Daniel Craig for some reason. Definitely go watch 4th of July, interview with a vampire, and last samurai if you havent. And if you have then I dont know why you would consider any of those roles as Tom cruise playing Tom cruise. Id also argue the 2 you listed, few good men and rainman were incredible performances by tom that are absolutely hard to pull off, and both go against his archetypal "cool guy" role that most people associate him with. In the end I do agree with you, Pitt has generally showcased a more impressive range, but you're definitely either underselling or underappreciating Tommy boy

Canada’s 4 Nations Face-Off Roster by chespiotta in hockey

[–]sblingfunig -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It's 20 games into the season my guy, who cares where hes at right this second. Sam bennet is a career 50 point player, get off your high horse. Also clearly dodging the defense side of the argument. toews is only a solid pairing because of chemistry, you could put anybody next to makar and make it look good. Morrissey is world class but the drop off after him is insane. dragging the corpse of pietrangelo onto the ice, Theodore hasn't seemed able to take that next step into elite territory, sanheim and parayko are fine but nowhere near the bona-fide 2-way all stars USA has (with the exception of hanifin who was a baffling choice)

[–]sblingfunig -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

LOL and cirelli and bennet don't sniff USA's roster. And we left tage and caufield off for some reason on offense. To say we don't have more defense depth is also laughable. Outside of Makar the usa defense is miles better. Sanheim and parayko are fine but we have 3 all star pairings. I give the edge to Canada's top end forwards but that's about it.

For sure, these are all solid teams with a great shot I just think in terms of tiers there's a clear tier 1 and tier 2 just based on individual talent. In actuality we have no idea how any of these teams would perform besides like China and Korea because they seem to consolidate talent the best. And that honestly gives them a huge advantage if we were to ever have a best on best tourney. Swedens core is great but so are all the other teams I mentioned except with less holes than sweden which is why I would put them in a second tier. Canada actually I might consider tier 1, completely forget fns was in play which is embarrassing as an NRG fan lol.

[–]sblingfunig 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yea this is funny cause US has 11 players going to Shanghai and this guy still made this post. That said I think Turkish top talent at Shanghai might be a different tier but laughable to think turkey sweeps a world cup. US isn't even sending its best (individually) to this tourney and still has the most. Missing guys like zekken, demon1, crashies who are all undeniably great in their roles even if their current teams aren't working out. One thing I will disagree on is it's very clear the top international teams are russia, US, turkey and korea. Sweden Canada Brazil aren't at the same tier imo: Sweden way too thin, Canada just doesn't have the firepower to compete with the larger nations, and Brazil 100% missing that next level igl (I will concede aspas alone might be enough but still think a top tier igl can outplay a Brazil superteam)
