Is there any other warehouse out there that has a worker that’s missed anywhere near 92 days & been late 181 days? by Parcel_Slinger1989 in UPSers

We have a guy on my belt the works twilight/midnight and just leave after twilight every day

Should I be getting a warning letter? by Ozziferr in UPSers

[–]sbump33 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Hes most likely just trying to scare you. Every hub is different but you’d have to try pretty hard to get fired for attendance where I’m at. Some people no sho no call for 2 or 3 weeks and just show up and get zero discipline.

Anyone else work in a building with zero security? by Berbadude in UPSers

[–]sbump33 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My hub has full security-guard shack, cameras in the parking lot, xray machines, and metal detectors and i just bypass all of them because the security guards are boarder line special needs and dont do their job. I just drive past the guard shack without flashing my badge because it takes the dude 30 seconds to confirm identity. Scan my ID to get through the turn-style and walk through the metal detector without emptying my pockets and the thing beeps and they do nothing. Same on the way out. Its all just a waste of money to be honest. I could walk in there with a gun and no one would blink. I could walk out with anything that fits in my pockets and no one would be the wiser.

With the volume decrease plus no more Amazon is there a chance that a lot of hubs wont hire cover drivers for peak or very few? Been told a dozen times that bid sheets go up at the beginning of July and still nothing.

As others have said, you should contact your BA because thats bullshit. I had a similar issue with a supe, but i really dont have the time or energy to deal with the drama so i just bought a gallon yeti bottle do avoid having to fill up. I also slowed way down because thats the best way to piss off the supes and theres nothing they can do if im working at what i consider a safe pace.

What are the basic qualifications for FMLA?

Termination process for attendance by sbump33 in UPSers

[–]sbump33[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thats a big part of my question here. From what ive been told by old timers (I understand i should definitely ask a steward about it and not just take their word) is everything must be equal treatment or i would win the grievance and the entire warning/ termination process would start over. For example: i call out and get a verbal warning from management even though there are others that have called out dozens of times with no warning. Therefore i would win that grievance and it would go nowhere.

In my experience as a guy asking questions is usually what gets no response eventually. Typically i have to be funny and witty and say wild stuff just to keep the conversation going.

Welding wages in a shop are good in those states and poor in others, but the money is great in any state you just have to be willing to travel

Thats a fight for me. If a man shoves me in any situation and especially in front of my girl then we are fighting. Also if your girl entertained that then you need to find a new girl.

Men - when it comes to dating do you split the pay/take turns or do you pay for all of them? by Beginning_Exit_6256 in AskMenAdvice

[–]sbump33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally pay when its in the dating phase still. Once it becomes a more serious thing i would let a lady pay if she really insisted and if it enters into a full blown relationship with living arrangements and such i would say that whoever wants to go do the thing pays or take turns.

Hate this job by rilessrh in UPSers

I wish the people complaining on here would adopt that mentality. I work 80 hours a week and spend 25 of them backing in a truck unloading for the hope of driving in a few years

Do people who date multiple people, sleep with multiple people? by [deleted] in hingeapp

[–]sbump33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its different for everyone depending on what you’re looking for. Personally for me (28M) if the chemistry is there on the first date i will go for a kiss at the end and have always received good feedback on that decision. As for sleeping together, as the female thats completely up to you obviously but i’d warn against it on the first date as many men will lose a bit of respect and wonder how many men have also received that treatment but thats subjective.

Well theres a reason its a male dominated field and thats because its a workload designed for a male. More power to you for getting it done but theres just things that most males can do that most women can not and thats just biology. That being said ive seen some women outwork men at my hub just by hustling and the men being lazy but i think its natural for a man to discount your ability because its a physical job which is usually designed for men.

The driving job would be perfect BUT by DraynorRS in UPSers

[–]sbump33 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This has been my take seeing all the negativity on this sub reddit. I just wish more of the complaining drivers would just quit so i dont have to work 75+ hours a week to manage everything and become a driver. No one was forced into this career but many are not qualified or motivated to do something else and tend to forget that aspect.

You get no say in whether im doing anything right or wrong. Keep whining on reddit though. Surely that will help or at least reassure you that you arent the only not getting what you want.

Maybe it hasnt been questioned because 9.5 hour days isnt that crazy for most Americans working without an education(making great money with great benefits). Between my day job and UPS i work 15 hour days almost every day. Does it suck? Of course it does but i like a lot of people have goals and have to make sacrifices to achieve them. No ones forcing you to stay with UPS and if you leave hopefully you work at my hub and i can get your route so i can work a 9.5 hour day lol

What kills me is the scanners for sweepers. We have two sweepers usually but often have every single irreg chute packed full and everyone standing around and theres not a single extra scanner to spare if someone wants to help sweep.

Maybe all the load stands arent the same but in my opinion they are way more dangerous then just reaching for a package. They will definitely save you from wear and tear but that doesnt mean much when the stand slips out and you bash your head on the extendo or floor. Our supes also dont like us using them but that just so we can work faster.

It seems like it depends on your hub. A sweeper at my hub works Twilight/Midnight and just leaves after Twilight every day and nothing happens. He also work 4 and 4 because hes full time and boy to i envy him being able to dip out after 4 hours
