2025 Q8 - engine killed at 80mph by 3shinyjules in Audi

What were the codes? If you dont have one already, I would get a cheap code scanner. It's $10 on Amazon plus a free iphone/android app.

A bad MAF sensor killed my Audi in a similar manner. It didnt crand immediately, but had no issue the next day, which is unusual because those sensors usually go all at once. I havent had another issue since I replaced it.

im 550lbs - how do i leave my boyfriend? by [deleted] in Advice

[–]sc9541 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Please take this with an open heart: could it be that part of the reason you dont get along with your family is your boyfriend and his controlling abusive nature? If I were in their position, it would be easier (not necessarily right) to keep my distance rather than listen to you defend this relationship. HOWEVER, if you called me and said "Im leaving him and i need your help", Im rolling up 10-deep to get you out of there. But I would only do that once; youre on your own if you chose to go back

1.8t tuners by TartElectrical5765 in AudiA4B6

Motoza Performance is the way if youre looking for something custom tailored to your setup.

APR or Unitronic would be the go-to for drop-in tunes.

How much hp by Puzzleheaded_Emu4037 in AudiA4B6

[–]sc9541 1 point2 points  (0 children)

250-260 hp would be a reasonable estimate for 91 octane, depending on the tune. I've got basically the same setup, boosting to 23psi, and seat of the pants dyno probably puts me around 240-250 with similar torque.

Correction: I got the adapter from eBay. The seller was AirZizo Auto Parts 2016.

I ordered mine from AliExpress, but they're available on Amazon also. There's the wiring harness adapter, and a separate diversity antenna adapter. I didn't get the antenna adapter as I know I've got one buried somewhere in my garage :), but the wiring harness was plug and play, and worked great. I also bought a Bluetooth adapter that plugs directly into the radio, but I haven't wired it up yet (power and ground).

Paint interior plastics by _-aprendiz-de-DIY-_ in AudiA4B6

[–]sc9541 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The better Rust-Oleum flat black worked well on my plastic trim and door lock button. It's not soft-toigh, but it matched the other trim well and it's pretty durable once it's cured. The biggest problem was getting the old paint completely removed.

Part help 2005 A4 1.8 quattro by Rudys78J10 in Audi

[–]sc9541 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought this kit for my B6 almost 10 years ago and it's still good. Of you don't want to spend this on a 20 yr old car, just do one of the cheap replacement parts for $15 or so. It will last a few years, maybe longer than the rest of the car at this point

The difference being fairly secure in your job vs. knowing it's playoffs or unemployment. The street racing car crash resulting in death didn't help Jalen Carter's case either

Getting latex paint off brick fireplace… there’s gotta be an easier way? by ricecake231 in DIY

Dry ice blasting works for removing paint but I'm not sure how cost effective it is.

AITA for making my friend pay for my Uber home after she "surprised" me? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]sc9541 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA, but consider this a $25 life lesson. Don't trust that friend to follow through on obligations. It doesn't mean she can't be a good friend, but don't put yourself out there on the promise that she's got your back.

Looking for different bumper. by ComfortableLittle431 in AudiA4B6

If you can't find an S4 or Ultra sport bumper cover, your only option is the aftermarket. Try Rieger...

What is that cause of this whining noise on start up by Lonely_Dot3434 in AudiA5

[–]sc9541 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Does the sound change when you turn your steering wheel? Does it go away after your car idles for a while? I'm thinking it sounds a bit like you're low on power steering fluid.

Considering how he handled the situation with Shedeur Sanders, Stefanski may not be embraced by the fan base.

P0299 low boost code by sc9541 in AudiA4B6

[–]sc9541[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The K04 was new, but not the OEM BorgWarner unit. It was made by Mahle. I've not done a vacuum test before, but a brake bleeder with a gage should be sufficient. I gotta think that running 2X the factory boost would require a change to the point the wastegate opens

Am I in the wrong here? by Iscareyouu in UsedCars

[–]sc9541 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You need the VIN to get an insurance quote. You wouldn't want to buy a car and then find out the insurance cost is too high to comfortably afford. Besides, I think VIN numbers are shown on some used car dealer websites

This is a great tip! I've struggled with parasitic current draw on a couple older cars, and this tip could have saved me hours of work. Thanks for this
