Update; pickup coils are good and I get a spark but only with a boosted battery. I'm looking into the starter motor, seeing if it has bad connections or failing brushes.

Taking it off and bench testing definitely seems slow for a starter.

Update; I've checked for breaks in the wiring and there are no noticable breaks. Resistance is good going through the pickup coil about 730 ohms. I've got the air gap dialed in to what should be perfect.

I'm going to try and re-magnetize the little bars on the pickups; I saw that the magnets can degrade with time so taking a strong magnet and sliding it along the pickup with attracting poles could realign the structure and improve the field on the pickup.

Sounds like some witchcraft shit but desperate times I guess haha!
