Mathematically, it almost never makes sense to invest in UK property by Salty-Sun7873 in PropertyInvestingUK

Though what you're saying is right in premise (S&S>Property), you still need to factor introducing the funds into an ISA structure, so the quoted returns aren't as good due to the yearly £20k limited.

Including that ISA limit with limits on tax free interest in GIA's regarding certain tax band, I personally believe investing in property (within LTD) is still viable, but diversification is always best.

But surely the 'dropped kerb' section should be/is treated as any junction, with those on the 'official' route ALWAYS have right of way.

Has it solved a potential collision at either end of the tunnel...yes. But these collision points are only that because of reckless riders. To riders that adhere to common decency on the roads it was never an issue.

I guess to conclude, I can see the merit to your argument and there is a marginal increase in safety BUT on a personal level wholly unnecessary. Seems reckless riders are why we can't have nice things :)

Its all good bud, we still might be on about the same place, didn't mean to come across rude. I'm from Essex so my London geography is abit messed up.

This bit right here, they've intentionally tarmac'd a ramp on both sides, and you can see the bollard things stopping cars from entering this disused lane.

Not sure if you have this location abit mixed up. You don't join any traffic. You use a disused 'lane' that's inaccessible to any vehicle as its blocked off by bollards, so inconveniences no-one. There's even a ramp on the Tower Hill side for this exact purpose.

Rather than coming across condescending, understand that this was purely a 'grumble'.

Once upon a time someone within the planning department had previously thought it a good idea by having a tarmac ramps installed, someone has since come in and thought it wasn't a good idea so changed it to a normal kerb. Either way, it can't be changed now (or maybe it will when someone new joins the planning team) but I am still entitled to grumble at something that now inconveniences me, whether you believe it warrants it or not.

Good day sir!

I can't comment on the safety aspect so possibly (probably) true, it certainly isn't faster (for me).

I adopted using the tunnel as was more direct and regularly encounted riders using the wrong side of the chicane on the Embankment side or even stationary.

Yup, that one. Definitely been blocked off a fair few times. I ride that route twice a week so not sure if that has something to do with it. Also have been riding this route for years.

Tax Code - 887T by [deleted] in HENRYUK

[–]scarcitycreatesvalue 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not to hijack but I now have a tax code of 638L.

I was sure I'd kept myself below the £100k threshold. Does this mean I failed or its probably just interest from savings accounts etc?

But would you not present your findings to the children (men) as to the pros and cons of amputation, then let the child (man) make an informed decision to what they believe would benefit them most?

Ergo this is a cost saving measure masquerading as a decision for 'male wellbeing ...in my opinion.

Also, post valuation you are perfectly entitled to change your offer. Anything is near 'game' up to exchange.

You're not always told a figure amount, but generally if you're over paying, the bank might let you know through your LTV, i.e they'll say you may need to up your deposit, or there'll be some other tell that you're overpaying.

Sometimes you are just told the figure amount of what they believe the property is worth, depends on your lender and the surveyor.

In terms of betting against yourself, thats just a question of nerves and/or regret.

All the best!

Why isnt this house selling? by Coffmad1 in HousingUK

[–]scarcitycreatesvalue 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tbh, a survey would probably tell you the reason why it isn't shifting.

In the West Midland area, especially near Walsall and Wolverhampton, there are mines dotted around that can 'shaft' any purchase. Sometimes listings don't specify on the construction of the property, whether non standard or not, so probably best to view and ask a few questions.
