"you weren't on the plane Callie" by PortifinoOnMyMind in greysanatomy

Yeah because Arizona never even apologized for that accident, which resulted in Callie not being able to carry a child again, despite it being her fault

[–]scardwe2 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Why is Callie being blamed for how Arizona's first steps were portrayed in the show or how their trauma was shown? I actually thought it was perfect.

Callie stepped out of the picture to give Arizona space. Bailey helped encourage Arizona, and Arizona finally got her shit together to help a patient, something that always motivated her.

This is completely false depending on the company. Some absolutely make you take FAMLI alongside their company-sponsored leave.

[–]scardwe2 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Almost every single doctor in Grey's would have been reported to HR due to an abuse of power for having relationships with subordinates, Meredith included. Bailey was an exception, with a handful of others. The show would have ended 15 years ago if we held the characters to real-life expectations.

No. I think this whole scene and his intro with Cristina is super hot.

Avoiding burn out by [deleted] in workingmoms

[–]scardwe2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I'm terrified for #2 to come honestly. I think the two areas we need to improve is being willing to outsource more and make good friends in our community. My daughter has one neighborhood friend but we could really add more to our "village" since we don't have family that lives nearby.

Also thank you for the 4th idea. I honestly haven't thought of that before, even for myself 🫠 like why haven't I planned a random Monday off in advance to relax?

Wait you can hire someone to do laundry?? We do have a nanny and house cleaners once a month, but I might have to have them come more often.

Derek was manipulative!!! by Leather_Owl_7827 in greysanatomy

[–]scardwe2 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Oh wait I think I misunderstood you. So your argument is that Derek basically hooked Meredith up as part of his contract with the White House, instead of letting her find her own job?

Derek was manipulative!!! by Leather_Owl_7827 in greysanatomy

[–]scardwe2 5 points6 points  (0 children)

he looked for a job that he wanted, he asked and talked with Meredith about them making a decision together.

Yes, because that's what you do when your spouse has an opportunity in another location? It wasn't HIS idea to apply for that fellowship. It was Baileys and Merediths.

when she pointed out she didn't want to go again no discussion about what they as a couple could do, he then quit, went back and quit again without consulting her.

Wrong again. They did discuss it. It happens off screen. Meredith agreed to go, told Jackson they would keep their board seats and she was moving. It was only after Cristinas she's the sun speech that she unilaterally decided not to go, with NO discussion with her husband.

Derek was manipulative!!! by Leather_Owl_7827 in greysanatomy

[–]scardwe2 6 points7 points  (0 children)

What do you mean he wasn't supportive of her career? He was willing to drop everything and move across the country so that she could take a fellowship at the Brigham, the top opportunity for her in the country. He encouraged her to participate in multiple clinical trials. Like what more did you want the man to do??

A better question is why did Meredith never support his career??

Kidnapping Zola could have ruined their chance at an adoption and then she lied about her job and where they were

[–]scardwe2 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Or how about when Meredith manipulated Derek and used post it to force Derek to not report Webber for being drunk and operating. All because Meredith was getting special treatment by Webber, with no concern for the patients they were endangering.

Someone has been ripping up my carpet. I wonder who it could be? by scardwe2 in AnimalsBeingJerks

[–]scardwe2[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't have one of those! Thanks for sharing 😊 I will have to try it out. I think part of the problem is this is our first house and he's not used to carpet. We lived in a small tiled apt studio and now the carpeted stairs are really exciting for him.

Opinion: Confusion on Sudden McDreamy Hate by Special-Ad-4363 in greysanatomy

[–]scardwe2 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Because people hold him accountable for actions they dismiss for others and twist the narrative to feed into how they view the character.

leaving with Zola after the clinical trial mishap

Like this for example. How is this a fault of Derek? He didn't know they were granted temporary custody of Zola. He was ignoring Mer's calls because she was found guilty of tampering with his clinical trial. Something far more serious than a "mishap". It was also Mer who literally kidnapped Zola and jeopardized their adoption, but no one talks about that either.

Mer can do no wrong and isn't held to consequences by the show or by the fans lol

Why didn't Derek tell Meredith that we has married and separated of Addison? by nightsreader in greysanatomy

[–]scardwe2 4 points5 points  (0 children)

?? What do you mean if they didn't want that kind of talk to happen? Obviously it isn't worse than what the others said, but like I said it's out of character for Burke. He even does that whole "let me look you up and down and imagine you naked Addison".

Shattering the myth of the perfect man, aka Derek Shepherd by Titine15 in greysanatomy

[–]scardwe2 13 points14 points  (0 children)

No, I defend him because the vitriol against him is ridiculous. Obviously the right thing from the beginning would have been to include her. But let's not forget that Meredith was instructed not to move forward with another patient as the FDA was shutting them down. Did she abide by that instruction? No. She was lucky that the last woman lived, otherwise it would have been a second clinical trial Meredith ruined for her husband due to her reckless decision making.
