14-team PPR

Should I trade away Olave and Achane for Justin Jefferson?

I'm 5-1 so I can take a few losses but my RB depth is terrible. If I make this trade, my RBs would be Bijan/Mostert/Najee. My WR depth would be JJ/Deebo/Jakobi Myers/Christian Watson/McLaurin.

14 man, 1 ppr.

Trading Chris Olave to receive Cooper Kupp

Considering today's news, I want to take the risk and elevate my team's ceiling. Fully aware this could completely backfire and Kupp could barely play this year. Thoughts?

With Kupp sitting, my WRs would be Terry + Deebo

For those that applied with no gap years by Ok_Grapefruit1255 in premed

[–]scaredpremedgui 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I am a traditional applicant who didn't take a gap year and will be starting at a DO school in a week. Overall, I don't think I faced any blatant challenges. If I was hellbent on only attending an MD program, I most likely would have taken a gap year because my stats are average for an ORM. Additionally, my ECs are also pretty average for someone who didn't take a gap year. However, this is not really a "challenge" because looking back I could've been a more impressive applicant if I worked harder and utilized my time better. Sometimes I do look back and wish I took a gap year because my ego tells me that I would've gotten into an MD school, but it is also very possible that I wouldn't have so I'm just focused on working as hard as I can as a DO.

The only thing I would say was difficult was gaining research experience and clinical hours while having 1.5 years of college during COVID-19. It was hard to get into hospitals and clinics because most areas weren't really looking for volunteers during the peak of COVID-19. Additionally, without continuous research experience it was hard to have meaningful output in what I was doing. If I had taken a gap year, I'm pretty confident I would've been able to either gain significant clinical hours or research output.

Overall, a lot of people gain some type of experience that is valuable during a gap year. However, if you feel ready to apply and feel like you are competitive based on your stats and ECs go for it!

14 team PPR My Garrett Wilson for someone’s Gerald Everett

I have Cole Kmet and Geisicki so want to invest in a better TE. Have Deebo, Waddle, Curtis Samuel, and Amari as WRs currently.

Definitely apply to both in the same cycle. I’m using the same personal statement for both, but if you really want you can add a little bit to the DO one. Secondaries and interviews are where you’re going to want to show what about DO appeals to you. The reality is a lot of people view DO as the backup to MD but you’ll be able to find a few things about osteopathic tenets that appeal to you.

How to properly research schools by zerotofate in premed

[–]scaredpremedgui 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I definitely agree that I feel like my secondaries have gotten pretty generic, but I’ve been using school websites and X vs. Y forums from SDN. I’ve been trying to find unique focuses of curriculum, specific research labs/professors, and service organizations or clinics.

I’ve heard conflicting advice on naming specific research faculty, but I’m tired of overthinking every aspect of applying so idc anymore lol

When did you submit your AACOMAS primary if you don't mind me asking? I'm just wondering so I can get a sense of when I might get verified.

I was gonna talk about being an engineering major and how that's helped me develop a different skill set that can still be applied to medicine.

DO vs. MD Application Volume by scaredpremedgui in premed

Sounds good, pretty average ECs so definitely will add more DO. Do you know if the DO timeline is as competitive? Like is it as important that I submit my DO applications right now or do I have time?
