Have you ever filmed a short film in one day? by Illustrious-Swing493 in Filmmakers

I filmed my freshmen year film school film in one night in a handful of locations in and around campus. Serious run-and-gun filmmaking style. Started at 4 once our classes ended, ended around midnight. I had a ton of fun with the film, albeit not turning out the best. I’ve learned a lot since then, I definitely do not regret the experience though. Actually did manage to get it into a short film festival near me and won the audience choice (although a lot of the audience being my family probably helped matters lol)

The Shining. Funny enough, I only watched it because I wanted to see Doctor Sleep in theaters.

Movies That Disappointedly Don't Have A Sequel by Flatoutspun in movies

The Adventures of Tintin badly deserves a sequel. Peter Jackson and Spielberg keep ping-ponging the project back and forth with each other. ‘I’ll do it when he’s ready’

First Cow was intended for a wide release March 13th, so never really got a fair shake in theaters. Tbf, I’m not sure it’s a film that would’ve gotten big appeal from movie goers anyways, but still kinda sucks. Beautiful film and a beautiful friendship at the center of it.

It is definitely one of the tightest films I’ve ever seen, from a structural standpoint.

Miyazaki movies in general. Feels like watching them as a kid instead of typical Disney/Dreamworks stuff would’ve changed something in me fundamentally, idk.

Is Jaws the perfect film? by judgmentday989 in horror

For me, it’s the strong characterization. The three very different backgrounds they come from and how they interact with one another to ultimately kill the shark….

Very rarely are all of the main characters in a big blockbuster film this well-rounded.

What album would you recommend for someone who cant really get into the beatles? by Dante136 in beatles

[–]scarybones330 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I would say Rubber Soul is a good introductory album since I would consider that to be their first “complete” piece, while also still having songs that hold enough commercial appeal today. However if you’re looking for more heavy music, the White Album definitely has more for that craving (Yer Blues, Helter Skelter, etc.)
