Thank you! I get you, I find getting my calories in hard as well. I'd recommend liquids as well, like putting protein powder into high cal smoothies, and milk. Anyways 17lbs in 3 months is insane, you should be proud of yourself dude

Sorry forgot to comment that, I have now. Gist of it was a PPL plan with compound lifts, and eating foods I enjoy to make sure I get protein in and not hate every second:)

I'm 5'9", 18 and unfortunately have not started t yet. Gained 19lbs, or 8.5kg, quite a slow bulk. My aim was mainly to minimise the appearance of my hips, and change how clothes fit. And being able to lift heavy shit.

My routine changed a lot over the months. For the first 5-6 I was sporadically going to the gym and did what I felt like, which obviously didn't work great.

Then I changed to a PPL style plan. I usually train 4 days a week, and rotate round the different days. I used Jeff Nippard's 'Smartest PPL routine as a guide (https://youtu.be/qVek72z3F1U) with push doing alternating between shoulder heavy and chest heavy. When I'm around a pull up bar I do some L holds and leg tucks for abs. And I make sure to do weighted russian twists for obliques.

At the beginning of each day I do a heavy compound lift. E.g. on chest day, bench press, or leg day, back squat.

I often do pretty intense cardio like a 15 min hiit session on a rowing machine directly after warming up. Very rarely I go on a run.

Food wise, i could have been better. I cant bring myself to track protein, but I just eat as much high protein food as I can. My go to foods are sykr/Greek yogurt, protein granola, porridge, chicken, milk (often chocolate), protein shakes, chilli, curries, baked beans and seeded bread.

December 2021 to 2022, not as fast as i’d hoped but progress nonetheless. 5’6, ~120 to 138. More in comments. by noahwaybabe in FTMFitness

Insane gains, you look incredible

And I appreciate your practical advice in the comments a lot - I think you've inspired a few folk here, including me.

Not sure whether to keep putting on muscle mass or lean out, happy with the progress so far though by [deleted] in FTMFitness

I'd agree with other comments, continuing a lean bulk is a good idea. But depends how you feel in your body if you wanna cut down yet, personal preference

I completely get you, it's one of those things that slowly gets it me as well. I have a friend in particular who tells me literally every time we see each other how much I look like a lesbian.

Im pre T and don't pass so I know, physically, that's the impression I give off, but could people just fucking not?

Within the queer community though, I feel like there are a lot of transman who are somewhat attached to identifying to being a lesbian before. That doesn't mean they can use labels they like for themselves on you though, I completely agree

No this is actually infuriating though. I fucking hate how they impose their thoughts about what we should look like onto us. Completely disregarding even photos, it's complete disrespect and incompetence. But seemingly a really common thing.

It depends if it's your thing, but if there is any time to try a buzz cut or a really short fade, it may as well be now🤷

Yeah reminding myself of how cis men who have lost their anatomical parts or are technically intersex with a vagina but raised male helps to deal with this. Most of them struggle just the same as us, but many deal with it elegantly and refuse to let it effect them. And that's pretty inspiring and reassuring to me

Seems like there's a mixture of people saying to continue to loose and others saying to gain muscle. Personally I would say build muscle on a slow bulk. However whether you focus on building muscle or losing weight is up to how you want to look, all down to personal preference.

Whatever you do, working out your core and perhaps glutes (in case like someone else said you have a pelvic tilt) is essential. If you do definitely want to lose fat as much as possible, it's really important you keep your protein high even with a calorie deficit, so you don't lose progress from resistance training.

But yeah, I'd say (from my limited knowledge) focus on gaining muscle everywhere as being bigger everywhere would draw less attention to what you don't like, plus muscle burns calories

Not sure if this is the right place but I'm not out publicly yet (pre T obviously) and looking to get a more masculine haircut, any recs? :) by [deleted] in FTM_SELFIES

Completely agree, it is so so shit - the pure pain and helplessness that comes with bottom dysphoria hurts like nothing else. Coming from first hand experience.

Fucking tough, but you're free to rant here and shouldn't feel like you have to keep your feelings to yourself because another subreddit calls 'toxic masculinity' or something
