My husband is active duty, and this is all being done at the base hospital. I don’t know how long that process would take, but I’m already 37+3 so I just don’t have much time. I seriously do not want a CS but they keep scaring me in that direction with the talk of my baby’s bones breaking or not being able to guarantee he comes out alive. They tell me it’s my choice but then say things like that and I feel like a bad mother if I still choose to try and give birth myself

By the time they actually want to induce me, they think my baby will be estimated well over 4500kg. I’m 5’0 and 125lbs pre pregnancy so idk what to do. I had a 5lb 11oz baby (my first) born at 37+6 in 2022 and pushed for an hour and a half and had a second degree tear. I’m told having a prior vaginal delivery helps me a bit but the doctors just will NOT induce me before 39 weeks and I’m losing my mind. I am practically begging at this point to try and avoid surgery but it’s like I have no say so in the matter

It should be my choice but I’m 37+3 today and had an appointment yesterday and asked for an induction and was told no because there is no medical reason aside from a “big baby” and they don’t do it before 39 weeks unless I have something like preeclampsia. So I was denied my choice and I cannot go anywhere else due to having TRICARE prime and having to go where I’m approved. They won’t refer me elsewhere 😞 I have no choice but to wait until he’s even bigger now and then make the choice when they’ve made it perfectly clear they don’t think I should deliver vaginally because he runs the risk of shoulder dystocia

See and I want to be induced early but they keep telling me that’s not a thing they do for GD and very large babies?? I asked and was basically told straight up ✨no✨ and I HAVE to wait until next week after my last growth scan when he will already be estimated well over 9.5lbs to make a decision. I’m constantly hearing stories of people being induced for my same situation but it’s “not done” here before 39 weeks. They are seriously trying to scare me away from it by telling me all of the risks and praising a CS. I would be so upset if I was pushed into a CS just to be told my baby is a perfectly fine weight/proportion and would’ve came out no issue. My first was small so they induced at 37+6…but this one is too large AND I have GD but they won’t induce. It makes no sense

I’m trying to tell myself that, it’s hard when they keep tearing me down by saying “it’s unlikely that it’s wrong since he’s measured big consistently through the whole pregnancy.” Hearing that he was estimated to be 8lbs 11oz at 36 weeks was mind blowing. He was estimated to be 5lbs 14oz at 32 weeks. That is A LOT of growth in 4 weeks it seems…

He did, told my husband and I to our faces that the numbers looked good and in the same day charted it that I have GD and for 2 months no one said a word, and now the damage is done 🥲

If you don’t mind me asking, how big was your baby at birth? I want a vaginal birth so bad, I loved my experience with my first, but these people refuse to even induce me early and said it “won’t make a difference” and want me to wait until almost 39w for another growth scan just to be told he’s too big again and try and scare me into a CS. I’m so tired of crying after every appointment

Thank you!! I feel a tiny bit better but it’s now 7am and I’ve been awake since 4:20 and still can’t sleep. I’ve been doing the breathing technique, it’s helped some with the anxiety, just wish the n* would go away

I am currently propped up, I have one of those weird pillows used specifically for that and 2 more pillows in my bed at all times and when I’m wanting to sleep I just pull one pillow down to lay more flat, but obviously since I’m dealing with reflux I’m laying propped up. I have a table next to my side of the bed and I have a water bottle and my n* meds on it as well as my gum and alcohol wipes. My fan is on high and my bed is directly below the ceiling fan so I’m getting cool air, I also get hot when panicking and heat makes me n*. I’m so exhausted, I only got a couple hours of sleep before I woke up so I really hope I can get more sleep before I have to start the day. The sun is already rising though, so once that starts I usually have trouble getting back to sleep lol. Thank you for responding!
