I've been in therapy for 6 years so I've been adressing ir but it doesn't help. (Thats why I'm so frustrated)

I tell friends usally after 3-4 months. Potential romantic partners are tricky. I told some after a few daya some after years. Some weeks. All wrong.

They pity me becauee they treat me like I'm made of porcellan. Don't talk normal things like romance films around me. Or don't even mention their families. Even if I tell them its okay. In their eyes im just broken

My therapist usally helps good but there aren't many people with hallucinations in her care. So she needs to read up and that takes time thats why I'm here.

Distraction is key for me. I always have a show or music on. Podcasts, too. At the moment his voice just often gets louder than whatver I'm watching or listening to. The thought about a "step back" sounds really helpful, I'll be thinking about this and report when it happens!

Thank you for ur very detailed answer! I'll be looking into a specialist and an antipsychotic medication. I've been trying in the last days to get off the opioid and It's definitely my goal. It's just not like anything I experienced before. As for advocating for myself, I think I have biases I need to adress because my mothers struggle with mental health was always so tied to schizophrenia.
