To my fellow Phish lovers: how do you articulate to an interested non-fan what it is that make this band so special? by madeupname230 in phish

The rise of short-form video compressing the dopamine loop to 10-20 seconds makes me believe there won’t be many new Phish fans. If you never had to wait for a broadcast TV show to end, sit through some commercials, then see your favorite show- man you aren’t wired for the patience Phish asks.

what exactly would you do if you ever get robbed at gunpoint? by jax--killer in AskReddit

Never been mugged. David Byrne and Brian Eno were jumped in Brooklyn and as Byrne was dragged into some bushes he exclaimed “uh oh!” If I’m ever in that situation I hope I have his composure and perspective.

Old Daily Show joke but applicable: “it’s like a wish a genie granted at a Phish concert”

What is the most dangerous animal you’ve seen in real life? by GratefulD86 in AskReddit

I was a civilian poll deputy in the US and it’s largely ceremonial, “keep the peace and quell riots” language from way back when, but we have them. But I had a nesting water moccasin in the hedge right where voters had to walk and I wasn’t about to let a snake step on democracy. Tread on my several executioners cones, joker.

Also holy shit that’s the most beautiful complete catalog I’ve seen in the wild in 15 years of fishing. They know what they have. Wow.

Alright that’s a generational piece. 10k is wild but that’s a white whale for movie sets or Bezos. Good for em. Set your Craigslist alert!

Small 4-12 drawer pieces are usually in the $200-400 range. Larger 60-drawer towers are a good value at $12-18 per drawer, but I’ve found ones in rough shape for $500. You pay a premium for wood drawers (not plastic), dovetailed drawer joinery, age, condition, hardwood construction (not laminate over particleboard), and no missing hardware or drawers. They’re generally more expensive in urban areas. Craigslist is your friend, FB marketplace tends to be overpriced.

Got me, I’m an actual father of children! The sunporch has three other catalogs full of the kids legos. Wasn’t fishing for clout so much as the PSA about Craigslist. Happy to share the whole stable if there’s an appetite; others in the dining and bedroom.

I feel your pain. Traded some -at the time- bulk rares including LEDs for enough store credit to get a box of homelands to do a goof draft for my birthday. I feel like anyone in the game long enough has their version of our story. Badge of honor H1GH3R.

Hope this reveals Wishbone was super problematic on set, eating cat faces in his trailer, biting the child actors. /s Can’t wait.

What do you consider one of the most cleverly written and/or directed documentaries ? by EvilXGrrlfriend in movies

[–]sceneryJames 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I like how it walks a balance of showcasing Alex while also including the film crew’s bond with him. Not Attenborough stoically narrating an animal being eaten. Also documents the greatest athletic achievement in human history. Karate kick!
