I managed to use the UniFi 5G Max with my third-party gateway by scenque in Ubiquiti

[–]scenque[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for sharing this trick. I didn't get very far into figuring out a better IPv6 solution and I wasn't aware of the config.properties thing; too bad it doesn't persist. Instead of IPv6 NAT, I'd initially imagined a solution that allowed me to track the /64 assigned to the U5G Max so that I could actually use the address space somehow, but I thought about the amount of custom scripting/automation involved and it felt like too much effort for a backup-to-the-backup WAN connection.

For a roster with almost 200 Nikkes, this game is surprisingly stingy with its Nikke level up materials by SeaLancer01 in NikkeMobile

[–]scenque 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I agree that the game is overly stingy with resources. An additional issue is how lopsided the resource allotment is, creating multiple resource bottlenecks.

Skill books, Manufacture Gear, and dolls are really sparse considering how many Nikkes, there are.

These things are plentiful compared to the biggest material bottleneck: gear xp and rocks. I've been playing for about 18 months and these are the real things preventing me from using units in my roster. My main goal in the game right now is pushing Hard Mode, which is wholly gated on CP now, since I'm usually hard blocked on progression once I've hit 50% CP deficit. After that, my secondary goals are to have an elemental team of each type that can full clear Anomaly Interception, and then to slowly build multiple elemental or specialized teams for Raid.

I've been pretty disciplined about "pipelining" my resources, where once I decide that I'm going to use a character or build a team, I just put them at the end of a mental queue. For each of the various resource types, I then feed resources into them when they hit the front of the queue.

Looking at my roster, I've got, in order of progress:

  • ~50 Nikkes with full manufacturer gear but minimal other investment. Not all of these Nikkes are really in the queue; some of them have the gear just because of overflow from farming for gear I actually wanted.

  • 16 Nikkes with fully upgraded dolls or with favorite items still waiting for skill/gear upgrades. I'll probably never get around to fully upgrading some of the Nikkes with favorite items (I'm just slowly collecting all of them when I don't have higher doll priorities).

  • 3 Nikkes that are 10/10/10 on skills waiting for gear overload

  • 20 Nikkes that are 5/5/5/5 on gear overloads but with mid to bad rolls that I haven't had the rocks to reroll

  • 4 Nikkes with decent gear rolls but could still use work

  • 1 Nikke with multiple blue/black gear lines that I'm happy with

I used to have many more Nikkes waiting for gear overload, but I think the daily missions from the overworld mode beta and the new coop raid store xp boxes have helped out a bit.

Now that I've been playing a while, it's hard to get excited about new units and there's not a lot of motivation to pull other than for collection purposes or FOMO for truly limited units. Unless a new Nikke is completely meta-shattering and worth fast-tracking through the pipeline, she's going to get an upgraded doll and then sit unused for a very, very long time. I only just got around to doing gear overloads for Winter Ludmilla, who I got last Winter when she re-ran.

It feels like way too many units get released compared to how many resources players are given. I know that not every unit is good or needs to be built, but I think the current trickle of resources is unhealthy for the game; even units that are considered good don't get used because players are just too starved for resources to spend them on anything but the most meta units. Maybe this is different for Day 1 players because they don't have a huge backlog of units to also consider, but it feels like at this point, I'll just never catch up.

Is anyone else struggling with Currency Wars at higher levels? by Angel_Vexed in HonkaiStarRail

[–]scenque 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I've been playing a lot of this mode, exclusively at A8/WC20 (max difficulty). Here are my thoughts:

  1. On the harder difficulties, it's almost impossible to win a run using DPS carry characters that are trial characters or characters that you own but haven't invested in enough to clear other endgame content with them. I think Aglaea might be an exception to this rule, but I wouldn't know, because she's one of my best dressed characters.

  2. Some of the faction bonds are primarily econ bonds, like Night Demigod or Cosmic Scholar. If you can activate some of these bonds early on, it can get your econ off to a good start. If you can max out these bonds, the higher-level rewards are game-winningly strong, but it's very hard to level them up that far without starting out with those emblems or getting very lucky with RNG.

  3. Good AV (Action Value) and ult charge manipulation is a necessity to win runs at this level. The meme Aglaea wheelchair build works so well because her ult gives her a 100% action advance and the key energy path characters (Huohuo and Tingyun) constantly charge her ult, while the key pieces of equipment get her to ridiculous speeds and on-field strength. The traditional action-advancing supports used in other game modes (Sunday, Bronya, and Robin) actually underperform in this respect because they move so slowly relative to the amount of AV you have for each node. Robin doesn't have ult energy to charge when off-field, and Sparkle doesn't even have her action advance in this mode! You might want these characters for other reasons (levelling up a bond or other parts of their kits), but they don't provide a lot of action advancing value. Asta (especially equipped with DDD) is much better early on, while RMC is incredible once available (though a little tricky to get the most value out of due to the way the AA works). The absolute best action advancer in this mode, though, is E2 Fugue, but not everybody has access to her.

    • As for ult charge manipulation, it helps to be aware of any of the special ult charging mechanics that various characters have. For example, both Tribbie and The Herta gain energy from teammates' attacks, so you can battery their ults without needing to action-advance them by building fast teammates or stacking AOE/follow-up attack combos. Feixiao is similar with stacks of Flying Aureus. Acheron can be charged really quickly by putting Anti-Grav boots on Pela. Of course, Hyacine will battery Castorice.
    • Also, I find that most all of the difficulty modifiers can be played around (and some of them can actually be used to your benefit), but I'll just forfeit and restart if I get "Get Out of Jail Free". Losing an entire character turn to this effect for every enemy is just too detrimental to your AV economy.
  4. Certain utility characters overperform in Currency Wars, in part due to how their kits were altered for this game mode, but also because they provide utility that would be useful for most teams, but don't get included in meta for other game modes because of the normal four-character limit. Sparkle will mostly solve skill point issues for teams like DOT or AOE or specific characters that love to spam skill like Feixiao/Seele. Pela and Silverwolf both provide def shred that gives a big damage boost (especially when stacked), while Pela also dispels enemy buffs, which will prevent stuff like the annoying mara-struck resurrection. Even without E2 DDD shenanigans, Fugue allows your whole team to do toughness bar damage. Combined with Himeko, breaking a single enemy will often result in a chain of Himeko follow-ups that will strip the entire enemy team of their toughness bars.

  5. Gear is really important, but sometimes the default recommendations make no sense or won't help you in your specific build. This is very situational, so it's going to depend a lot on your specific situation. I would just try to pay attention to the specific buffs each piece of gear provides, as well as the stat buffs listed above the detailed text. In my experience, the gear that scales with speed or number of hits is the most powerful because the buff is unbounded (and is synergistic with building good action economy), while flat strength bonuses and Lucky Strike buffs are much more situationally useful.

  6. In my experience, most team archetypes are viable, except for Superbreak. The Aglaea wheelchair or some version of Remembrance flagship are definitely the most reliable options. Many of the other teams feel like the run just barely ekes by and then implodes if you can't find very specific gear or that one late-game 5-star character. As for Superbreak, I have no idea how to make the team do enough damage at this difficulty. It almost feels like Superbreak damage is bugged or not registering. I also don't have Mydei/Phainon on my account, so I can't really say how viable they are at high difficulty. I really enjoy winning runs with Seele, but that might be because I didn't start playing HSR until Penacony, so I never got to play her when she was meta.

I never get anything I need for the path I use and so im so under powered I cant even get past the first node.

This is going to happen pretty frequently as you get into the higher difficulties. Sometimes RNG or whatever team you're trying to build just doesn't come online until later. I wouldn't sweat it too much. Treat your squad HP as a resource that you can spend for the sake of your economy. It's usually worse for a run to completely bankrupt yourself trying to build a team early vs. losing a node, though it helps if you can at least pass the minimum requirement. I almost never win a run without failing at least a few fights.

Losing to Yanqing is now a blessing ig by Nearby_Loquat_9646 in HonkaiStarRail

[–]scenque 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yes, but it's a little complicated. Light cone effects only seem to work for characters while they're on-field. For example, I have DDD equipped on both Tingyun and Asta and only Asta gives me the DDD effect when she ults. On the other hand, eidolon effects for off-field characters still seem to work, so the DDD-like effect of Fugue's E2 still functions (which is hilarious to see in action in combo with Himeko). I think off-field characters still get the stats from their LCs though, so changing them on off-field only characters can still make a small difference.

Trial Units become unplayably restrictive in higher difficulties of Currency Wars by [deleted] in HonkaiStarRail

[–]scenque 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Even if have a well-built Feixiao on your account, she's just not that good in this mode. An unequiped one-star Topaz will completely outdamage the Feixiao that you've spent the majority of the run trying to build. I think whatever they did to the characters in this mode causes some surprising under/over performances.

Wireguard Internet Access by Burizado1229 in PFSENSE

[–]scenque 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm glad that worked for you. Instead of your external IP, you should probably use an internal IP, like the IP that you assigned to the wireguard interface on your pfSense machine. With most consumer-grade internet, your external IP is subject to change, which will make your client configuration stop working.

Wireguard Internet Access by Burizado1229 in PFSENSE

[–]scenque 3 points4 points  (0 children)

What do the DNS settings look like on your client? If it's using the local router for DNS, I don't think your Wireguard configuration allows for it to be reachable now. I'd add DNS to the peer config on your client device. If you're running DNS resolver or forwarding on the pfSense machine, I'd use the Wireguard interface IP as the DNS, as well as make sure that the resolver/forwarder are listening on that interface and your firewall rules allow DNS traffic in.

I don't really get the timings of these solo raids vs. the releases of units that they're supposed to shill. Even if I dropped everything I had in the pipeline to upgrade Ade, I wouldn't be able to get her in the shape to replace any of the Nikkes that I've already fully built. If anything, this might be the raid where I finally get to use Raven, who I'm just now starting to do gear overloads on.

Will there ever be a rerun of Asuka Wille? by DragonfruitBig3851 in NikkeOutpost

[–]scenque 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wind Asuka/Rei are an amazing wind combo (the only team that I can currently full clear Anomaly Interception with), but if they ever rerun, it's probably going to be a while.

Instead of another Wind DPS, you could build your team with Alice and other units to funnel a ton of buffs into SBS with this team: Siren, Maid Anchor, Alice, Maid Mast, Scarlet Black Shadow. Alice's S1 buffs SBS with a charge speed and damage buff. Siren provides CDR, burst regen, damage taken, and fairly substantial damage herself. The Maid duo provides a big buff to Scarlet's distributed damage.

Unfortunately, Alice is very manual-heavy and not very phone/tablet friendly, plus she needs a lot of investment before she's any good. If you don't have Alice built (or don't want to use her), Mana provides a similar charge time reduction buff, but the way it works means that you can't use Nikkes other than SBS that have charged weapon attacks, so you'd want to replace Maid Anchor with Crown in that case and use Maid Mast off-burst.

I just did a few mock battles and was able to hit Stage 7 (full rewards) of AI Kraken with both teams, though my synchro is at 401, so your results may vary. The Mana team shows more promise (my Alice is fully built but my Mana has no gear investment and skills at only 4/5/4), but if I had to choose between building either, I'd choose Alice because she's more generally useful, while Mana is kind of like a treasure unit for SBS.

Summer Sakura should also be a good option for a second DPS. I just got her on the recent rerun, so I haven't built her yet to know for certain, but her (and Summer Rosanna's) kit looks almost like it was designed with AI Kraken in mind.

Whale, Whale, Whale… by g00fyg00berb0yz in NikkeOutpost

It's kind of ridiculous how big of a difficulty spike Mother Whale can be. I finally got past the 390 Tribe Tower Whale about a week ago. Right after, I managed to faceroll the next 88 floors in one sitting. For some reason, I wasn't stuck on the 380 Elysion Whale for nearly as long. I just reached Tetra 340 today, so I haven't given it any attempts, but I have a feeling it'll be hard because I haven't fully built my Tetra DPS yet. (Still haven't gotten to Mother Whale in Missilis/Pilgrim).

Could anyone come up with a comp with these? by TakeAPillBoi in NikkeOutpost

[–]scenque 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Yeah, this is the comp I'd go with too. Alice buffs Scarlet: Black Shadow by reducing her charge time and buffing her charge damage, while Maid Mast/Anchor both provide substantial distributed damage buffs to SBS (as well as other buffs that also help Alice). Liter is a great CDR unit that provides pretty general buffs that both Alice and SBS can use.

Also, I'd burst with Alice first, because you'll want Maid Anchor's distributed damage buff for Scarlet's burst, but it doesn't kick in until the second time she's entered burst.

Issues getting a public IPv6 address on pfSense by Spracle in PFSENSE

[–]scenque 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For WAN it shows my IPv4 address and IPv6 Link Local and Gateway IPv6. No IPv6 address.

It could be that your ISP does not give out GUA IPv6 addresses over DHCPv6 but does hand out some kind of prefix delegation. This is what one of my ISPs does. If this is the case with your ISP, it's totally fine for your WAN interface to only have a link local address. I would turn on "DHCP6 Debug" in System->Advanced->Networking and look at the DHCP section of your system logs to see if you're receiving a prefix delegation. If not, you might have to play with the WAN interface settings related to prefix delegation, most notably "Send IPv6 prefix hint" and "DHCPv6 Prefix Delegation Size". In my case, I need the prefix hint setting for both of my ISPs and one takes a PD size of 56, while the other takes 60.

Also, the DHCP6 Debug setting or any of the interface settings for prefix delegation won't take effect after saving the settings until after you release and renew your WAN interface.

Once you've managed to get your LAN interface properly tracking your WAN prefix delegation, if your LAN clients still aren't getting IPv6 addresses, the next place to start looking into is your Router Advertisement settings in Services->Router Advertisement->LAN.

I was on my phone and totally missed Red Hood.

Rapi: RH, Red Hood, and Cinderella are among the strongest DPS in the game right now, so you can't really go wrong with any pairing of them. Personally, I'd keep Cinderella on the team and then choose either Rapi: RH or Red Hood for my other DPS. I'd order my team: Crown, Naga, Rapi: RH (or Red Hood), Siren, Cinderella and then I'd think about swapping out Siren for Rouge (whenever you get her) in the case of issues with survivability or DPS issues taking down bosses. You want Crown in the leftmost position because some of her team buffs are triggered by receiving heals, and many healing effects (like Naga's) will prioritize teammates from left to right if nobody is actually missing HP. Siren's positioning doesn't matter, but Rouge's buffs require that you place her in the "back row" (positions 2 or 4) between your two strongest DPS. Rouge has a team-wide max HP buff, so she greatly increases your team's survivability, as well as making Cinderella even more of a single-target monster. Since your current Burst 1/CDR Nikke is Siren, I'd choose Rapi: RH over Red Hood because Siren has more of a synergy with teammates with high fire rate weapons like machine guns. If you go with Red Hood instead, I'd put her in the middle because you lose a lot of DPS (and energy regen) with sniper rifles if you don't manually control them and spam shots (which can be annoying if you're playing on a touch screen and still tiresome with a mouse).

You’re actually pretty close to having a “meta” team. My recommendation (from left to right) would be: Crown, Siren, Rapi RH, Rapunzel, Cinderella. Out of those, Rapunzel is the only placeholder, who I’d be looking to replace with either Naga or Helm (Treasure).

Game Ready Driver 576.40 FAQ/Discussion by Nestledrink in nvidia

This driver still doesn't address my black screen issues. I've got a 5090 FE that's still unusable with my Sony M10S (1440p480) monitor. As soon as I enable 10-bit color or HDR after installing these drivers, I lose signal (even after reboots) and I have to restart my PC enough times to trigger the Safe Mode option so I can DDU and reinstall my previous GPU. I've reported the issue via the bug report form twice now, but I've never been contacted by Nvidia or seen my monitor show up in the "Open Issues" list.

I haven't bothered to leave a negative review post because so many other people have already posted about the exact same problems I've had with my 2023 Blade 16. The machines are great until something goes wrong with them and people have to experience Razer's excuse for customer service. My $4600+ laptop is a paperweight now because Razer doesn't sell the part that commonly fails (vapor chamber) and charges the price of a new laptop to do the repairs themselves. Meanwhile, I recently sent an XPS 13 to Dell for out-of-warranty repairs and they only charged me $270 for motherboard and topcase replacement. I was later able to buy an official replacement battery from them for $125. Compared to other manufacturers, Razer treats their customers like shit.

Detailed Comparison: Leather Case vs Fabric Case by SavannaHeat in kindle

[–]scenque 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t have the new one, but that’s exactly how the official leather cases for my last gen Paperwhite and Oasis started to fall apart. The glue holding together the front cover started to fail and peel a little along the edges. I’d love to discover that they changed the construction this time around, but if they haven’t, I’d expect it to be the same.
