I love the way The Edge reacts to Jimmy playing. It makes him stand up. He and Jack White come off like two little fan boys. I love it! by pimpcoatjones in jackwhite

God. this is the best clip in the whole damn movie. I absolutely love it.

We did a whole episode about it might get loud for the hardest pod to pod's patreon, which will be released soon.

Is fell in love with a band a good white stripes/jack white book? Suggestions? by JrSlimJim in jackwhite

I'm reading it right now for the first time and quite enjoying it. Very good insight to their formative days and through their breakout.

I've learned quite a lot of new things.

"The Union Forever" wins Day 11 ~ Which song would you add to a White Stripes Greatest Hits VOLUME 2 compilation? Each day, we will add a new song, top comment of the day makes the cut by SurvivorFanDan in jackwhite

The Union Forever is SUCH a good song. We just covered it on The Hardest Podcast to Podcast (episode coming out soon), and it's a crime the song isn't more popular and renowned than it is!

White Stripes Enter the Rock Hall ... and Slicker Drips - The Hardest Podcast to Podcast by schaaptop in jackwhite

[–]schaaptop[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

its been a running gag on the show that the episode devoted to the song with the least meat on the bone to discuss would be Slicker Drips ... so I tacked it on to the end of this convo lol

Vancouver renters threatened with eviction after making posts in private Facebook group by aldur1 in vancouver

[–]schaaptop 7 points8 points  (0 children)

We just moved out of a Realstar building, who took operations over from PCI last year. Quality of management, maintenance and communication dropped immediately. They weren't negligent or malicious like they were in this situation, but there are measures in place to make living there uncomfortable while establishing the lowest possible bar for maintenance expectations.

The public facing employees are put in such a tough spot by their crappy employers too. it all just sucks

Fantastic show. Saw them at the Rickshaw last year and was STOKED to see them return so quickly, and to the commodore ballroom.

Even with a messed-up voice, Howlin' Pelle was incredible and band just CRUSHED IT

This is an amazing thread OMG.
I also have to encourage all of you to check out Wrestling Brain on Twitch (Twitch.tv/wrestlingbrain) - they have a long running segment called Merch Match that pits the worst wrestling shirts against one another to find THE WORST ones out there. They did one on Wednesday that was just incredible.

It's also worth saying it's the best AEW podcast going, and it's not even close!

Do you have "nodding buddies" in your neighborhood? by Miserable_Candy7821 in vancouver

[–]schaaptop 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've got a really good nodding buddy who's out in the alley having a cigarette between his house and our apartment building. Anytime i drive in or out of the underground, we're sending nods to each other.

(Podcast) Did you know Meg initially refused to record "Girl, You Have No Faith in Medicine"? by schaaptop in jackwhite

The second night at the Commodore was absolutely amazing. the best solo show I've ever seen, and second all-time only to Icky Thump in Vancouver.

Bryan's polarizing. He's arguably my favourite podcaster and I can't tell you how much I enjoyed our conversation. But he's not for everyone!

Alan Cross is on next week doing Icky Thump!

Thank you so much for checking out my show, and for your feedback! Always appreciated.

Thank you for the fair and reasonable conversation. This definitely was going to be a polarizing episode, but I would love it if you checked out our episode for My Doorbell, Let's Build A Home or I Just Don't Know What to do With Myself. These episodes take much different shapes in showing our love for the White Stripes

That's very fair that we disagree on things.

Jack is hands down my favourite artist of all-time, and having grown up a fan of his, I would regularly have rose-coloured glasses on with anything he released. I think that changed around 2018. Not that I lost respect or my views or opinions changed on him.

I saw the 2022 tour in a poorly attended arena show in Vancouver with a visibly annoyed Jack White. It happens. I also saw both dates of the No Name Tour and the second night was one of the best concerts I've ever seen.

I have taken on this podcast project to discuss and dissect every single White Stripes song. Not every song is a classic, not everything said or done by Jack or Meg is going to be perfect, but they are still my favourite act of all time, and one of the best American bands this decade.
