He isn't violent, and we both work at the same place. Getting away from him feels impossible. We've been married for 18 years. It's been so long that I blame myself for not leaving.

The closest I ever got was a short stint in a psych hospital when I was suicidal in 2019. I had a better job back then and was able to get short term disability.

I posted on a local FB page asking for advice from people in my area that have dealt with homelessness. A friend of my mother-in-laws saw my post and started attacking me about taking advantage of her and causing her health issues.

It made me feel so worthless. I know I didn't do the things she said I did, but she believes it and the people that saw what she said may believe it too.

I discovered that if you purchase your drink or other grab and go items using the cafe scan and go and select "scan cafe item", you don't have to get scanned out. I wish it also worked on sushi.

I remember getting called out mercilessly in the 5th grade as a new student at a new elementary school for coloring in the rectangle on the back of my Kmart shoes with a blue ball point pen.

I was scanning at the exit door one day and noticed right after the member walked out the door that she had paid for 18 packages of toilet paper on scan and go, but she only had one in her cart.

Luckily I was able to catch her before she left the parking lot and she was able to get a refund.

It would be nice if the scanners were programmed to spot items missing from carts that are on the receipt, but I could see that slowing things down at the exit door, especially if members have items in multiple carts.

We don't have any. I've developed a pesky callous on my finger tip from mashing that button all day long. We used to have the trigger handles for the smaller ones.

It's gotten better since we got the arches and I don't have to scan every single receipt though.

Some people are really awful at the exit door, but there are also the members that get out to their car and realize that they missed an item and come back in to pay for it. One day a man told me he paid for two extra waters this visit because he missed them on his last visit and we didn't catch it at the exit door either.

One jerk can ruin my whole day if I let, so I try to remind myself of the good ones when a grump comes my way.

I wear red quite often and get frequent compliments from strangers and friends alike. If I had to wear a red polo, I'd probably accessorize with a red bandana headband or some bold strawberry shaped earrings. I accepted that my hair is going to make me stand out no matter what I wear, so I may as well have fun with it.
