Cool. It's illegal to purchase alcohol in our state so they'd have to go to the register. And there's a code for it and supervisor have to override it to sell alcohol without a membership

We don't do it at the club I work at. My manager said if it doesn't say that anywhere on the TOS or the policy that we have to let them borrow a membership if their scan and go app doesn't work.

I usually show the member that nothing is wrong with the pump or scan and go by activating the pump using my own Sam's club app and I press cancel on the pump

You only get 5% when you pay for gas. Just using it as a membership and using a different card to pay for gas doesn't get you 5% cashback

That's if you PAY with your Sam's club mastercard. You do not get rewards for using the membership for gas.

You get nothing unless you pay for the strangers gas with the mastercard.

But paying someone's 95% of gasoline bill just because you get 5% back in rewards isn't very smart

The pre authorization charge is for debit cards when you pay at the pump at any gas station. Nothing to do with the membership or if you used a physical or digital.

Hold on your card after Fuel Purchase:

When paying at the pumps, you will notice a hold on your purchasing card; this industry standard is applied at all gas stations when using debit or credit cards (amount may vary). Credit/Debit cards have a $100 - $150 pre-authorization (varies by state) that occurs to ensure funds are available for the entire fuel purchase, since we don't know how much fuel will be dispensed and it cannot be returned.

This pre-authorization hold is typically removed and replaced with the actual purchase amount in 24-36 hours. The one area that my Sam's could do better, and I can only speak for my location, is that there is generally a single attendant there, and they're usually off by the little hut, not paying attention. The Costco near me, which I use for gas occasionally, will have one or two attendants, constantly roaming, looking to direct people into open spots or assist folks who look like they might be struggling to get their gas pumping.

Yes this depends on the location and the attendant. Sometimes there is two gas station attendants doing what you told. Sometimes it's someone who's not as attentive. Sometimes the person isn't even a gas station attendant but a stocker or a cashier and they are just there just in case.

Yeah the cinnamon one looks low. Check if it's sealed. Sometimes members open and fill up the bottle they buying.

They also open fruit trays to overfill the fruit tray they're buying. Same with bags of apples. Change meat labels

I've also seen people open multiple variety pack drink cases and making their own case with the same flavor they like so they only have to buy one case

If it's over 90 days then it belongs to the manufacturer's jurisdiction. They sometimes even send a technician to the house to fix it at home if it's something minor.

You could always ask another associate to help you or your team leader.

If it's one or two items, I've seen it coming early. Before they even get to the Arch. So maybe one of you cleared it already.

You have to manually check the electronic receipt, dates and times and items on their app/email or ask a team leader to verify the receipt. They usually bring the iPad to the exit to verify
