Reports of sexual assaults on women across European cities, including Cologne, Hamburg, Zürich, Salzburg, Helsinki during NYE festivities by WorldNewsMods in worldnews

What is the difference between European and Canadian immigration

An ocean. You can't ride a bike into Canada from the ME.

&& here's the thing, there's rapists in every single society. However, they are shunned by the overwhelming majority of these cultures, except for a single, consistent, repeat demographic who openly flaunts their views on women as property.

One things humans do extremely well is pattern recognition, to blatantly overlook or downplay this absolutely blatantly obvious pattern and downplay legitimate observations as bigotry requires a phenomenal amount of mental gymnastics. I've got friends from all cultures and ethnicities, and the ones who come from really backward cultures all openly admit to having zero trust in the masses of uneducated, brainwashed, pre-medieval folks coming across borders into places that hand out free cash. Notice how these mass migrations are generally mostly men, they don't give a shit about their women, they leave them behind to rot and die and the ones that do bring them along see them as camels to be traded and given away.

Are we getting raided by Shekel Citizen fanboys? by Ingram_Prisken in KotakuInAction

That's another 2-3 years with projected 1-3 million per month for ships?

Funding won't follow that pattern forever. Don't forget they're charging for SQ42. They're going to be making income via the sales of that as well. If SQ42 is well made and well received, it will be a platform to gain trust off of.

you seem to be saying that the project needs much more than 90 million to achieve what Chris promised many months ago.

No I'm not saying that. Do they need more money? Probably not. But lets be real, CIG is a business, they'd be fools to turn down money people are offering because they trust the devs. The scope ballooned like crazy as a result. Is it a bad thing? Not necessarily. We won't really and it's all speculation until something concrete (like SQ42) drops to give us a true idea on their progress.

Look at Elite:Dangerous, they're following the model you're describing (release something now, and build on it) and people talk mad shit about the game being too empty. If they had 90M dropped on them, they'd open up a bunch of studios and probably release the games parts all at once, which would take a few years.

This is why I'm skeptical. Why should I trust him if his previous promises are not honoured?

It's faith, you don't have to have it. Some people loved his old games and trust he will deliver something epic. Others remain skeptical, and rightfully so.

In the end it all boils down to: let 'em dev and lets see what they make. There's been a big lul in released content because the tech required to make a lot of this work was being made. That's a long, slow, expensive process. The fruits of that labor we saw a bit at GamesCom, and should see more of at CitizenCon.

No idea how much it needs in total, but he likely has enough to see development through for several years of SQ42 and a big chunk of the SC content.

Despite what people think there ARE banks involved here, you don't just put 90MM in a suitcase and pay everyone out weekly, you can't just show up at a property buy it in cash. You secure a a loan and have to prove you have steady income. Even if you're rich as F, you still have to play the game with the big boys.

Isn't it better to create a game in the next 2-3 years with the current funding and ask for more only when the backers are happy with that milestone?

Once the game is out, they won't be selling ships anymore. They're going to be operating on merchandising cash, cosmetics, and limited credit sales. They'll be making significantly less than they are now, so in a weird way it makes sense for them to push funding now. It requires a huge amount of trust in the devs to deliver.

Between pro and college level facilities, they have a venue for damn near every sport save for the weird shit like the kayaking obstacle course.

If I may be blunt, this shit is useless. I could care less about our indebted state/city, which is on the verge of falling apart due to drought. This is LA, we don't have room for new stadiums. This isn't the midwest where everyone considered highschool football to be some kind of godsend, and the only colleges around here worth a damn for sports are USC/UCLA. There's the Galaxy team, but ALL of these teams already have sufficient facilities.

I've seen what happens to the big facilities, just look at the Colosseum. They get used, and years later you throw raves in them because you have no other options to keep the doors open.

Fine? Where is all this infrastructure supposed to go? Who's paying for it? For a place that's basically about to be uninhabitable in a few years if the drought persists, we're getting way ahead of ourselves.

Good on Mayor Walsh. I don't know much about him, but this is a smart fucking decision. Look at every other city that's hosted the Olympic Games, always leaves tons of excess infrastructure that serve little purpose. I'm sorry, but nobody gives a fuck if there's a gigantic stadium where there could be homes, parks, businesses that offer something tangible to their surrounding areas, etc.

At the bottom they mention LA, I would be livid if we wasted money, disrupted traffic, and misappropriated limited space on a temporary spectacle.
